Embracing family and friends

This past weekend we celebrated a family friend's graduation from high school and today I am embracing the fact that I have such a great family and awesome friends. The graduation party was scheduled from 2-5pm and I think Jon and I got home close to midnight! Burgers, beer and cornhole...what more do you need for a good ole' time.

I grabbed my hubby in between intense games of cornhole for a quick pic

Me, "little" sis Tomi and a camera shy Ernie. Luckily there were lots of kiddos at the party who had no problem hanging with the little man and I got to relax for 2.5 seconds

I grew up with these 2 beautiful ladies and their mothers are like 2nd mamas to me. Yep our moms are pretty cute.

Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of the grad, who is heading off to be an Oklahoma State Cowgirl in the fall (sorry Lex!). It's funny how as you get older, you  find yourself wanting to hang out with your parents. Maybe my parents are just extra cool, hip and fun but I know everyone went through the "ugh you are so embarrassing mom" stage.  I am so grateful for all my family and friends!

glad you found my blog! congrats to you for the wedding and the new puppy - what an exciting year it's been so far for you! and ernie is absolutely adorable. french bulldogs are gorgeous. can't decide if the next dog we get will be a bulldog or a pug. i'm a sucker for the scrunchy pug face!

Thanks for the comment love. The pictures I took were with an iPhone 4. I do normally use a Canon Rebel. Looks like you guys had a fun weekend - even though I have no idea what cornhole is!

You have a beautiful family! And I totally agree with the parents thing ~ something clicks and they aren't quite as annoying as they use to be ;)

Hanging out with mom and dad? Isn't that funny? I was sure I was sure I'll never hang out with my parent when I was younger. ANd today - I just love it! :)

I have a crush on your dog. He's so freakin' cute!

I totally get you on the parent thing. I live 500 miles away from mine and hate it. I LIKE hanging out with them and it bums me out that I don't get to do it more often.

Sounds like it was a great event! I'm in love with Ernie :). And you are so right about parents... I'm headed home (to Iowa) in a couple of weeks and I think I'm most excited to spend time with my parents and all of their friends! It's fun to realize how very important they were to you growing up. :)

I totally feel the same way about my parents. If I'm bored on a Friday night, sometimes I'll just go over to my parents rather than calling my friends and making plans. I just totally enjoy their company so much as an adult.
