Good to know

I've posted before about my obsession with Pinterest. I love it. Maybe even more than Facebook (yes it is THAT good!). I started out with the basic boards...food, decor ideas, crafts...but my account has grown into so much more. Heck I even have a board with photography samples so when I have babies, I can borrow those ideas :-).

I started coming by lots of great little tips, tidbits and random ideas. I had no idea where to put these special little pins so the "Good To Know Tips" board was born!!

Check out some of the things I've found on Pinterest that will hopefully make my life easier one day!

Dry up grease stains with white chalk before putting into laundry

Mess saving trick for painting

Painting a doorknob

Idea for filling up a bucket too big for the sink

Covering up dings in wood furniture with a walnut

Prevent sweat stains on white clothing with baby powder

Soda can top as a picture hanger

How to clean your mattress

Removing sticky labels with a hairdryer

Keeping brown sugar soft with marshmallows

Cleaning your microwave with vineager

Lots of these tips came from Real Simple's website...that website is also heaven!

Question: Do you have any tips you live by? The best way to dust mini blinds? Family secrets on making a zero calorie chocolate cake? Do share!

great post - and cool ideas

I really like the "filling up the bucket" one - but I would probably still get water all over the floor - ha ha ha

Another tip for the brown sugar is a slice of bread - it is what I have always done!, but the marshmallows might work better since they never seem to go bad :)

Oh, and I use baking soda and vinegar to clean everything (microwave, stove, sinks, bathtubs, etc.)- it is environmentally friendly & cheap!

hey girl! the marshmallow/brown sugar trick reminded me of one of my mom's -- put a slice of bread in your cookie jar to keep the cookies from getting hard.

hope you're having a great day!!

These are all awesome (and new to me!) tips! The only one that I live by is vinegar on cramps. You know those horrible spasms you get in your legs, or at least I do, you put vinegar on a washcloth and put in on the cramp and it takes it away!

What did we all do before Pinterest??! Such a fabulous creation. Oh and the recipe for a zero calorie chocolate cake is: lots of butter, lots of flour, lots of chocolate, a few eggs...cook in oven at 350 for 30 minutes...remove and inhale the aroma...then throw it in the trash. Either that or just don't look at calories...surely it is zero calorie and fat free if we just don't look, right? Enjoy pinning!

These are genius!! If you find a way to make that 0 calorie chocolate cake, make sure you post it :)
