The Coffeehouse: DIY & $25 Target Giveaway

Today I have Tiffany from The Coffeehouse sharing a few amazing DIY bathroom transformations...I wish I had half of the patience for projects like this :-). Oh, and she is giving away her feature ad for the month of August AND a $25 Target giftcard!

Hi there. I'm Tiff, husband is Dan and lab is Sherman. I blog over at The Coffeehouse; a blog that has absolutely nothing to do with coffee. Instead, I blog a little bit about everything, including a little DIY from time to time.

But, I have to be completely honest with you. The DIY is all husband.

Sometimes I am called in to pick up the drill or search for a dropped screw that landed in an impossible-to-find place. However, the majority of the time you'll find me standing in the corner ... attempting to take pictures and daydreaming about future blog posts. What can I say, it's a gift.

So, when Ruthie mentioned that she would be on House Hunters later this month, I ran and told husband that my best friend was going to be famous. Ok, so Ruthie probably doesn't go around telling people that I'm her best friend. But, either way ... I am so excited for her.

And speaking of houses, we have one.

A really old one.

And with an old house comes two old bathrooms. And with two old bathrooms comes one working toilet. One!

So, we decided to fix up these old yucky bathrooms.

First we did the upstairs ...

And then we did the downstairs ...

So what do you think?

Should I keep husband around for a few more years?
Two toilets in the Jones household. It's the little things in life.

And speaking of two ...
I'm giving away not one, but two free items today. And these two items are even better than having two toilets. Ok, maybe not. Ok, absolutely not.

But they're still pretty great.

And let's not forget ... FREE!
+

Up for grabs is my Feature Ad space for August (a $30 value if you want to put a price on my face). And because I know that not everyone has a blog/shop to advertise (there may be a whopping two of you) ... I'll throw in a $25 gift card to Target so that you can spruce up your home (we're on a home kick today if you haven't noticed). Or buy a new shirt. Or candy. Or whatever your little heart desires.
So, go ahead and look below there to see how you can enter.

And my recommendation would be … enter. What have you got to lose? You don't even have to follow me. Or you can follow me and then “unfollow” me after you win.

I’m kidding.

That’s illegal.

Good luck to you!

And you. And you and you and you.

WOW hubby did an amazing job! I'm sure you helped too though ;) Can't wait to hear more about the renovations in August! We just moved so I've been making trips to weird Croatian versions of Ikea and trying not to buy too much bc who knows how long we'll be living here.

we redid our bathroom this past spring and it made a huge difference just changing out the sink/vanity and painting!!!

WoW! I always think just a little paint in a room is the quickest and easiest way to transform any room! But their bathroom is amazing!

Um, can I borrow your husband? Our 1920s house has 1 disgusting bathroom, and neither of us has the patience to try to fix it ourselves!

Your bathrooms look great! I haven't done many DIY projects, but my favorite project is one my mom has done. She textured her kitchen walls and it looked great!

Amanda said...

Favorite, so far, has been the fabulous headboard that we're repainting, but you already got the sneak peak of that ;)

I leave the big DIY projects for the future hubby, but small ones I can handle. For example, small DIY project: coasters. They came out super cute and are a little custom creation to our home.

Favorite DIY project has been re-doing our back sunroom! Turned out fantastic!

Thanks for such a great giveaway!

The bathrooms came out great! Can I barrow your hubby to do mine?

My DIY is very basic, but for me...it was a really HUGE deal!!! I re-finished an antique bookshelf that used to belong to my husbands grandparents. It is now in our baby's nursery about to be filled up with pictures and baby books. I'm so excited for the baby to be here in December so the room will be complete :)

Oh Tiff how I love you! My favorite DIY project? Umm I need my own house first! ;) so my favorite right now (nothing compared to your bathrooms) is turning my diaper boxes into "cute" storage boxes in the kids room! All it took was some spray paint! Exciting right?!?

I really enjoy any DIY project. I'm always looking for new things to try - especially if they are inexpensive!! :) I loved repainting some old shelves to create a new look in my living room.

Fave was refinishing my dining room table... the final result was worth it! Least favorite - HARDWOODS. Or rather, ripping up the old hardwoods. Although, the final result of that is pretty awesome too!

My fav DIY project has been refinishing furniture. We found some great deals at yard sales and spruced them up and they look like totally different pieces!!

wow, what a great job! we don't have any remodeling skills, i thought maybe we'd do a few projects but we're having a hard enough time just painting..ha. :)

and, i totally agree, multiple toilets are a big deal! maybe even the key to a happy marriage? sure.

I'm fairly notorious in our house for starting a project with great intentions, and then ending it looking like a kindergarten project. But in college my roommates and I talked our landlord into paying for the paint and we sanded and painted our kitchen, floor to cabinets. It made a HUGE difference, and was a great bonding time for us!

Sandra said...

I like to move the furniture around every now and then. Makes it feel like a whole new place. That's DIY right? :)

I hate painting... takes so long to prep. but I love the end results.

My least favorite DIY project was a pair of lace embellished cut offs I made for 4th of July. I broke two sewing needles in the process and it was a nightmare.

Favorite DIY- Completely redoing our flower beds, starting from scratch and making them our own was fun!

LEAST fav DIY- Painting, I'm way too impatient so our house is filled with paint blotches all over the ceiling.

Least Favorite: Anything Dad tries to make for me so I don't have to buy it. Love ya Dad, but I needed a level nightstand, not one that I have to have something to hold it straight.

We just redid our half bath on our first floor and it turned into a total plumbing nightmare when my fiance measured off by a quarter inch. He had to move all of the toilet plumbing over by a quarter inch. Glad that's over! These bathrooms turned out fabulously!

Heather said...

We just bought a house and are in the process of painting, cleaning, etc! It is all awful! But will be awesome once done! :)

My favorite DIY to date...hmmm.... (oh wait, am I having trouble because I don't have very many?!--I'm waiting for my husband to kick in doing those projects that Dan does!)
I did snag a very cute dresser that our church was throwing away and turn it into an adorable accent in my daughter's room. With some paint and a little sweat I turned trash into treasure!! Yep, frugal I am!

Hmmm since I am the worst crafter in the WORLD... I'd have to say my favorite DIY's are cooking, does that count? Hahaha
I recently made a July 4th Tank top and it turned out really cute? :)

We redid all the hardwood floors in our older house. They looked beautiful but I couldn't walk for DAYSS!!!!! So rough =)

If I won an ad space on Jones' blog, I would be force myself to get my blog looking nice. If I won a Target gift card, I would buy floating shelves.

And now I am hooked on finding Ruthie Hart on House Hunters. I love that show. Love it! I record every new episode.

Lisamarie said...

My favorite DIY project would be staining an old china cabinet that I am begging my husband to let me buy off of craiglist. I will seriously sell my wedding dress to purchase the china cabinet. Maybe the man selling the china cabinet will trade it for the wedding dress? Why wouldn't he?

And umm... does staining old wood count as a DIY? I am not really handy. Neither is the husband. SORRY blog world!! We don't do things ourselves!

JMc said...

least favorite...any kind of bathroom work! I don't like my bathrooms being disrupted and I can't seem to help in anyway. Favorite: painting, that I can do! lol

My absolute least favorite DIY project is hanging shelves. I hate it. I hate the measuring and the taping and the marking. It STRESSES ME OUT. Right now my favorite DIY projects are putting finishing touches on Brody's room. Making tie backs, putting up decals, mod podging ceiling fan blades. :) AND your bathrooms look fantastic!
