Least favorite word

We all have them right?

My least favorite words seem to change often. Maybe I haven't heard a word in awhile and I hear it and it grosses me out, or gives me goosebumps. I am pretty sure 99% of the world can agree with me that moist is a disgusting word. And mucus. Jon thinks I am 1 step from nuts because he will say a word and I will tell him what it reminds me of. It's not necessarily gross words, any words really. Other words I am not a fan of: lump, pump, moist (I think everyone can agree), plump, the c word, gurgle. These are words I hate the sound of...but there are MANY words I just hate the use of (axe as in axe you a question, etc).

I've asked my sponsors their least favorite words below...(and be sure to go say hi! Especially if you share the loathing for a certain word)

What is your least favorite word??

LOL- I feel like everyone says "moist" as their least favorite word!!!!

I hate dumb things like "yolo" and RIDICULOUS shortening of words like 'perf' and 'adorbs'.... drives me nuts! LOL

haha, I can't even really think of them until I hear them but off the top of my head, the word "regime"-- I hate the soft g in the middle there, it makes me angry.

Also, "lately"- but only when M says it. "you've been crazy 'lately'...."what does that even MEAN!? like, this WEEK, this MONTH, come on!?

and I don't hate the sound of it, but when people call things "gay" or "retarded"... not even for the PC reasons (I mean, of course those too), but because COME ON, you can think of something that better describes what you're saying? Because I don't even know what that means. ugh

least favorite word is definitely "piddle." no question. unfortunately we have a little dog with a nervous bladder, so this is a word that gets tossed around a lot at home!

lol! I used to hate the word 'panties.' I've since gotten over it. But I'm not quite sure where the hate came from.

Yes, everyone hates the word moist... It's just an uncomfortable word! haha so funny you pointed out axe, hate it too. Another one I really don't like using: dump. Just plain weird.

Haha. This is hilarious! I really don't like the word "panties" Makes me cringe!
Also, "pee pee," Like "I have to go pee pee" or "wee." It's just sooo..... ugh. As an ESL teacher, I hear a lot of cringe worthy words from kids!

My least favorite word is retarded. It is used quite often as simple slang and to describe something that the person sees as weird. It always is followed by everyone laughing at the comment. Example: "That is so retarded" or "he is such a retard".

I have a brother that is retarded ie. mentally handicapped, ie. mentally challenged, ect., or whatever the popular word is today. It is not a word me or my 6 brothers and sisters ever use as we see the challenges these sweet humans deal with daily. They are blessing God has placed in our lives and we are thankful for the lessons they teach us everyday.

I cringe when I read "totes" as a substitute for "totally".

Or "presh" for "precious."

And if they're in the same sentence? UGH.

I completely agree with Angie above- I hate the shortening of totally into totes. HATE it. Moist actually doesn't bother me that much.

Moist doesn't bother me. Maybe because it makes me think of cake and cake should always be moist. :-)

Like others, I hate "totes". I also really hate "ginormous". Ugh! Ginormous is not a word. Say either "enormous" or "gigantic", not "ginormous". :-)
