He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." - Mark 16:15
I can't wait for you to read her story!!
-------------------------------------------------------
Hey ladies and gents!
Can I just tell you how excited I am to be writing this post?!
And I'm a little nervous, actually. Like butterflies in my stomach nervous. Is that weird? It's because I feel like I'm writing in Cosmo or something. ;p On the famous Chronicles of Ruthie Hart blog.
Ruthie's blog was the first "real" blog I started reading and it instantly inspired me to enter this whole blog world that I never knew existed. And let me tell you people, I'm hooked and so excited about it! I never thought I could love blogging so much & that it could bring me so much rest! But I do, and it does, and for that, I am thankful.
Now, back to Ruthie, who doesn't love that creative dimpled beauty?! You guys, let me tell you, Ruthie is just as sweet & amazing in person as she sounds on her blog. I know this because Ruthie & I went to high school together! She was a year younger than me & was just adorable. She was one of the sweetest people I knew at our school & there was just something different about her. She was always glowing and it was no doubt from her sweet spirit and love for the Lord. I am so thankful to be sponsoring her blog this month.
Just trying to fit in on the Chronicle's of Ruthie Hart. :) Can you guys guess what this is???? It's going to blow your mind... It's a water chestnut, you know that come in a lot of Chinese stir fries!! You boil it, crack it open and inside you have a water chestnut.
I'm Heather and I blog over at The Mosby's in China.
My husband, Zachary and I were married on December 20, 2008, graduated from University in 2010 and moved to Korea for a year, where we bought our baby girl dog, Chara.
A year later, we boarded another plane and moved to Dongying, China. 3 years of marriage, 3 apartments and 3 countries! We know how it's done.
Our year in Dongying was tough. We would often escape Dongying and go to Qingdao, our current city, on the weekends to catch a few breaths in civilization. And to drink Starbucks, let's be real.
After a long year, this summer we packed it all up again, to finally settle down for a while, in a place we are now calling home, Qingdao, China.
A picture at our new home!
So, Wait, where the heck do you live?! You may ask.
We live in the beautiful Chinese coastal city of Qingdao. We live right on the water, which is amazing, with mountains in our back yard. People say Qingdao is a gem in China. It's clean and modern and has a great, relaxed environment. We can ferry it across the yellow sea to Japan or Korea, catch an hour flight to Beijing, or a 13 hour flight to LA. And our apartment is only 10, 637 miles from my hometown, Austin, Texas. :) Stop by anytime. ;P
Next, you might be asking, What are you doing in China?!
The simple answer to that question is that we are teaching, living and following Jesus in China.
For the more detailed answer to that question, you'll have to check out the blog! If you check out the blog, you might be able to read more about...
Our love for coffee,
and how I can only drink decaf now because of anxiety.
Our love to throw parties,
like our Happy Birthday America party or
our friend Josh's 32nd birthday.
Our love of our sweet dog, Chara,
whose name means Joy in Greek.
Our life as ESL teachers
and the joys and frustrations of teaching.
Our love for snow
and fall.
Our trip to Dalian
and Beijing.
Or the time we rescued a puppy
and had to bottle feed it for 3 weeks.
Or how we climbed Lao Shan
or the 6,000 steps of Tai Shan to watch the sun rise above the clouds.
Our love of Qingdao's seaside
and nature.
Our marriage & love
Like on Chinese Valentine's Day.
Or the time we saw donkey meat for sale
at a Chinese Walmart.
Or my obsession with baking and cooking
like these easy cake cookies
or these blonde brownies.
And our love for building community
and making new friends.
And our love for our families
and how much we miss them.
We like to keep it fun but can also be read blogging about the more serious.
And the life in between & in the midst of the adventure.
And the beauty we see in each day as follow an amazing God.
Thanks for reading today guys!
And thanks for having me, Ruthie.
I hope you guys have a wonderful Tuesday!
We would love to have you stop by & follow our lives in China!
