Happy Yiayia Giveaway

Hello good friends of Ruthie Hart! I am so excited to get a chance to blog! I've always secretly wanted to be a blogger, but you know how it goes... life gets in the way! I'm listening to the rain pour down outside, and I realize how much I hate rainy days. But what I do love is seeing the rainbows sprawl across the sky after the rain has passed. They are beautiful, colorful and always unique, much like each of my tie dye creations. I love opening a newly tie dyed piece and seeing the way the dye has created a pattern unlike any piece I've done before. That feeling of excitement is what prompted me to open my own tie dye shop. Well, that and the fact that I ran out of things to tie dye for my own family! So here I am, a homeschooling mom to five, spreading my love of rainbows.

I have always made tie dye creations for myself and my family but two years ago, after my youngest daughter was born, I began selling my work. As a cloth diaperer, I hated the boring white prefolds and flats so I began tie dying them. Friends encouraged me to offer them for sale, and so Happy Yiayia was born!

After I sold dozens of diapers, I decided to start dying some shirts and linens.

At this point, I decided I wanted to create tie dye that wasn't common in stores, so with my mom's sewing abilities, we started making blankets, scrub tops, body pillow covers, and stockings!

This past May, we were asked to tie dye a dress for prom and we also made a matching vest and bowtie for her date! I simply adore this pair! We've since sold a vest and bowtie for a groom to wear to his wedding in Spring '13, how amazing is that?!
