So here are a few of my recent reads..
Christ followers if you haven't read Crazy Love yet, order it on Amazon right now. Francis Chan is awesome, challenging, engaging, and so raw. I felt so convicted throughout this book, and multiple times wished I had the courage and trust to sell everything I own and give it away. I did a review on a piece by Lisa Chan, Francis' wife, and plan on reading many more (ALL!) of his other books.
Emily Giffin is the talented author of the Something Borrowed series and most people don't know about her other great books. I've read all of them so this was first on my list when it recently came out. Seriously how can Emily write all of these emotional, engaging and awesome books?! Some authors books are all too similar but not Emily's!
I have two other books checked out right now...The Confession by James McGreevey and Silent Partner by Dina Matos McGreevey. The library clerk laughed when I checked these out and I said hey! Ya gotta read both sides! If you don't know about the McGreevey's, Google them. Not sure if I will have time to read them before they are due, may have to put them back on my To Read Shelf.
So any recommendations? I love all sorts of books...biographies, drama, suspense, romance, Christian, etc.

I've also done reviews on Bloom, Soul Revolution, Dream Big, and You Had Me At Woof.
Now onto music...
You'd laugh if you saw my Pandora stations. Everything from Tenth Avenue North to Frank Sinatra to Justin Timberlake and Drake. Lately we've been listening to a lot of praise music...mostly on Air1 radio or Pandora. We also love dubstep and Bassnectar, Awolnation, PassionPit type music. Jon loves metal (like super hardcore metal) and the funny thing is a lot of it is Christian music. I prefer MercyMe over screaming though :-). We usually listen to music at dinner and have been playing the Billie Holiday station quite a bit. Something about the trumpets and brass instruments and scratchy voices just totally relaxes me and gets me excited for Christmas (even though it's not Christmas music). Cliche but I also love Gangnam Style! We are going to SpiritFest (Christian music festival in Austin) on Sunday and can;
So what are you listening to? What are you reading?

I've been wanting to read Crazy Love - gotta go buy : ) Thanks for the tips!
I love Emily Giffin! I'll have to add this book to my list! :)
Crazy Love is on my to-read list too. I'm waiting on a friend to finish and then plan on borrowing it from her :)
I've read all of Emily Giffin's stuff too! My fave author of all-time is Jodi Picoult- have you read any of her stuff?!
I've seen Francis Chan speak in person a few times, and he is so compelling. I've heard many good things about Crazy Love.. it will put it on my to-read list :)
I'm totally a 3 or 4 book-at-a-time kinda girl too. Personally, I love everything by jodi Picoult. I can never guess how her stories will end. I'm reading her book Lone Wolf right now. And I'm reading The Happinness Project, and I'm reading Under the Banner of Heaven which is a really interesting non-fiction story about extreme mormonism and polygamy (which fascinates me).
Anywho. Hope you are doing well Ruthie!
Haha, I am actually listening to my fav Pandora station right now: Hillsong United! Fav praise/worship station!

I loved reading Crazy Love! It was really challenging, but such a good read. Stopping by from Megan's blog! :)
I've been meaning to pick up Where we belong for the past couple weeks and you just motivated me. Thanks!
I'm not really reading anything. Nothing has kept my attention span...oops! And I've been listening to throwbacks like Natasha Bedingfield and artists from high school lately :) Happy weekend friend!
Crazy Love is amazing. So is the follow-up, Forgotten God!
You should check out Mark Swayze on iTunes! They are completely devoted to God and are doing amazing things with their talent from leading worship across the country to feeding hungry children all around the world!
Crazy Love was so convicting but definitely needs a read. We read it in a small group I led a few years ago and I have women who would come back each week and complain about it. I honestly feel like they were being convicted about things they didn't want to face and change about themselves. It was very interesting hearing everyone's thoughts on each chapter.
Added you on goodreads! :)
Reading Crazy Love alongside the gospels was one of the biggest contributing factors of me going into ministry. It's so good.
Great pics! Wish I had time for pleasure reading right now :(
I really wanted to go to spiritfest this weekend but I won't be able to. Hope you have fun!!
I haven't been reading much lately, besides the Bible. It was my goal to read the whole thing this year but I wasn't committed as I would have liked to be. I haven't heard of that reading plan but I'm going to check it out. I've just been reading a book at a time and switching back and forth between the OT and the NT. I'm also doing my first Beth Moore Study (James) and I LOVE it! It has already changed my life in so many ways!
I'm currently reading Mended by Angie Smith and You're Already Amazing by Holley Gerth.
I am currently reading Bared to You which is similar to 50 shades of Grey but much better writing!! I also love Emily G - she is my favourite author and I have read each one of her books at least twice :) She is hilarious to follow on facebook/twitter as well!
Musically, I have been listening to the new Taylor Swift album, the New Mumford & Sons album and the new Matchbox Twenty album...love new music from my favourites!
