Earlier this week, Jon and I were both in Dallas for business (him for meetings and me for trainings) and as blah and mundane as that can sound, we got to spend time with our favorite little girlie, our niece and God daughter, Embry. We stayed with my sister Sunday-Wednesday and got lots of laughs, cuddles, and great pictures of the little lady. You can normally just look her in the face and she is a bowl of smiles... I think I captured some good ones!
Big sister Athena is very fond of her little sis
(and Embry is her biggest fan)
Trying SO hard to crawl!
Every little girl needs monogrammed silk shoes, right?
(I am so glad I can still buy pink for Embry!)
As hipster and green Austin is, the thrift stores in Dallas are way better. Maybe it's because all the rich folk donate their barely used designer baby gear and clothing? At any rate, Cori and I did some major thrifting and baby Hart basically has a full wardrobe for the next 2 years. How can I pass up Baby Gap and Gymboree for $.99?! There may be a lack of boy clothes options but man they are cute. And she scored the deal of a lifetime... a black Ergo carrier for $4.99! I bought mine on Babysteals a few months ago for $80 and thought that deal was crazy. So if you are ever passing through Dallas, don't be shy to thrifting. It is also a lot cheaper than here in Austin and I think it's because thrifting is more common here and they can jack prices up knowing people want thrifted/vintage/etc. I will say that Baby Hart will be quite the fashionable stud!
