Mary Kay Review & Giveaway
A friend of mine, Alyssa Paap, recently recently became a Mary Kay beauty consultant and reached out to me to do a product review. I've said it before that I am not your normal beauty products gal and require my beauty routine to be quick, easy and simple. My mom has always been an avid Mary Kay user so from the time I was young, I was very familiar with their products. I remember going getting to the age where I needed to wash my face often and my mom bought me none other than Mary Kay. What I love about Mary Kay is the quality of their products that don't come at a steep price. You are getting better than department store makeup and products for a fraction of the cost, and supporting a local consultant! My mom has always used the Timewise set and I was excited to review it for the first time from the samples Alyssa sent.
Although I've always considered my skin pretty normal on the dry to oily scale, I've noticed certain parts of my face and hands getting drier with pregnancy. The Timewise Miracle Set is a line made for normal/dry skin. The treatment is a 4 step nightly process that has left my face feeling fresh, moisturized, and protected.
1. Timewise 3-in-1 Cleanser- I used this to remove my daily makeup from my face. It is meant to cleanse, exfoliate, and refresh.
2. Timewise Age Fighting Moisturizer- I am very picky about moisturizers and require the one I use to be light and versatile and Timewise fit my requirements. For people with oilier skin, this moisturizer hydrates and helps control excess oil.
3. Timewise Day Solution with SPF 35- here is where I need to slap my wrist because I am bad about sunscreen on my face. I'm not sure if my foundation has SPF but I know that is an area I am lacking in my skincare. Even in the wintertime, the Texas sun can be brutal and I find myself always sporting a red nose. With SPF 35, the sunscreen is also light and helped me feel protected.
4. Timewise Night Solution- this was a totally new product for me and because I only had a sample size, I didn't really notice a difference but the solution is supposed to enhance the production of new collagen to smooth and firm your skin.

All in all, it was a totally new for me since the extent of my normal routine is washing my face in the shower or taking off my makeup in the sink and then using a drugstore moisturizer. The older I get the more I realize how important skincare is to me and how prevention is the best medicine. I may not start using the 4 step routine but my biggest takeaway is wearing SPF sunscreen on a daily basis.
I also had the opportunity to use Mary Kay's Satin Hands Pampering Kit which again, I remember using with my mom growing up. Like I said above, certain parts of my body are becoming drier through my pregnancy, specifcally my hands. I feel like moisturizing them 2,3,4 times a day is not enough and my knuckles are always cracked and dry. Well...be gone dry hands because Satin Hands did amazing transformation on my previously dry hands. The 3 part set includes a hand softener, hand scrub, and hand cream that literally leaves your hands feeling like satin. I couldn't stop rubbing them together! I also loved how the set was fragrance free. It would make a great gift for any woman!

I also had the chance to use Mary Kay's Satin Lips Set which was as luxiourous as Satin Hands. I topped it off with a Mary Kay Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss in Fancy Nancy. I love how long lasting the gloss is, and it's not too sticky (my hubby hates that!)
