Italian food is a staple in our home. I prefer making it on my own rather than eating out at an Italian restaurant because as much as I don't want to believe it, restaurant food is loaded with fat. At home I can choose lighter oils, pack my sauces with veggies, and choose a whole wheat option when it comes to Italian dishes. In the back of my mind I know I need to stop using breastfeeding as an excuse to eat what I want and with Ford's first birthday right around the corner, I am trying my best to make healthier decisions in the kitchen!
I was so excited to try out the Slice A Roo because I have seen zucchini pasta floating around my favorite healthy recipe blogs. The Slice A Roo allows you to slice, shred, and curl potatoes, fruits, and veggies. The "pasta" was delicious and easy on the waistline! I didn't even have time to take a picture of the final product because we gobbled it so quickly.
Zucchini- 3 zucchini was more than enough for 2 people
Salt & pepper
Your favorite sauce and protein
After spiraling the zucchini, saute with olive oil and salt and pepper for 4-5 minutes and enjoy!
The Slice A Roo is lightweight, easy to clean, and even easier to use. I look forward to making curly fries and fruit salads for summer BBQs!
