Keeping Cool In The Shade

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I love being outside as much as the next person but the last place you will find me is baking in the sun. My mom and sister call me out on it sometimes but I adore my pale skin because I know it is healthy! I feel like I've been a laid back and relaxed first time mom but when it comes to sun safety, you can call me sergeant. I want to spend lots of time at the pool, park, and lake with Ford but I would hate if his poor little skin got burned because I didn't prepare. I lather us both up in 50 spf sunscreen but the best way to prevent sun burn and damage is shade. We got this awesome mini splash pad at Target and have already used it a few times this summer. I can foresee it being used almost every week. When Ford is in or near water... he is happy. And when he is happy... I am happy!

One of my favorite summer products for keeping the sun off my precious pale skin is our new JoeShade Portable Sun Shade Umbrella. We have one of those huge EZ up tents for the lake and beach but the Joe Shade is lightweight, portable, and easy to throw in the back of my car to take to the pool or friends houses. It stands 8 feet tall at it's tallest setting but can also be lowered which is great to keep Ford shaded on our deck while he's making a mess in his water table. It's a UV protection umbrella and has a tilt function for when the sun is in funky places. I could write 10 more paragraphs about this awesome umbrella but I will let you purchase one and see for yourself. Keep your babies (and yourself!) safe this summer! I also keep imagining popping up our JoeShade Sports Umbrella when Ford is out on the soccer field in a few years.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

oh my gosh!! What an adorable little setup! It looks like they are having so much fun. :) My husband and I don't have any kids yet, but we do have a little fur-baby (who is spoiled rotten). This summer we've been working on a lot of projects outside, our puppy always want to be out there with us but she's black and gets very hot. We bought her a little baby pool to help cool her off and she absolutely loves splashing around in it!
