Two in cloth

One of my favorite mommy topics to talk about is cloth diapering and how much we love it. I shared our routine a couple of months ago and even wrote a 4 day series on MOMquery on cloth diapering. It's still so cool to me that Ford and any baby we have in the future will share diapers, cha-ching. With #2 on the way, I try not to stress about having two in diapers, specifically cloth diapers. There are so many potty training myths/what ifs.... cloth diapered babies train sooner, boys train later...the list goes on but I truly believe it depends on the child so I am not holding my breath. Would I love to have Ford potty trained at 2 (my big sister was potty trained, even at night, at 22 months!)... heck yeah... but I know that isn't a realistic goal. Right now my plan is to use disposable diapers for the first few weeks with baby H2.0 (like we did with Ford, until he wasn't pooping at every feeding) and then switch to cloth between 6-8 weeks. We started with 24 Bum Genius 4.0 one sized diapers and I am slowly adding a few more diapers to our stash because I don't want to be a slave to dirty diaper laundry with two in cloth. Our most recent addition to our diaper stash is the cutie teal Buttons Diaper

Buttons Diapers is a husband and wife team who sought out to make cloth diapers affordable for all. They sell prefold inserts and covers, my first non pocket diaper! Buttons diapers come in 2 sizes, small 9-20lbs and large 20-35lbs. Since Ford is in the middle of the weight span (I think he's around 25lbs now), the diaper is a tad big on him but it will be perfect for him to grow in to. I may be biased because all I see is my son in a cloth diaper most of the day, but he is so stinkin' cute! The Buttons diaper is adorable, well made, and super easy to switch around sizing (I changed a few of the buttons after the diaper was on Ford). Scroll down to win a Buttons Diaper of your choice!

So mamas of two in cloth diapers, any suggestions? Any ways to make cloth life a little easier when wrangling a toddler and a baby?

Be outside with Ford naked as much as possible. It will limit the dirty diapers you get from Ford as well as help him learn what peeing is - I swear that is how we potty trained Trent on the earlier side. He understand what it meant to go pee because he did it outside ALL the time, ha.

He is so precious in that cloth diaper. If we go for a #3 we will attempt cloth diapering. I wish I had started with #1. I keep stalking your blog waiting for the gender announcement LOL.
