Right now, the plan is for my sister to stay with my the night before my surgery so Ford can wake up in his own bed. She will bring him that afternoon to meet his baby sister then take him back to Dallas with her for a few days so we can get adjusted to life with a newborn without the craziness of a toddler and get settled in at home. It's funny the thing that keeps me up at night worrying is not the sleep deprivation that comes along with a newborn but worrying about Ford not getting enough of my time or attention. I know I will be emotional and miss his smiley little face but this will give mama time to heal at home while he has a lot of fun with his aunt Cori and cousin Embry! My mom will stay with us again to help out with baby and around the house, I have a feeling we will never want her to leave! I keep telling Jon that I am going to take the month of May off. After I had Ford I immersed myself back into life pretty quickly which I partially regret because I know my body needed more time to heal so this time around I am going to be more cautious. I am used to hosting, going out and about everyday, and keeping a packed schedule for Ford but I am looking forward to saying "no" and relaxing at home with my babies and letting my body recover. As a first time mom I wanted to be a hero and it was hard for me to accept help and meals but that is DEFINITELY changed. Heck if the FedEx guy offered to watch Ford while I napped I would probably say yes (kind of joking, but we've gotten to know him through Jon's daily car part deliveries for the 49 truck). I was so focused on getting through those hard days with Ford that I didn't spend enough time soaking it all in. I can't wait to watch Ford become a big brother and see Jon with our daughter. I am SO looking forward to a few weeks of family time and hibernation before the chaos of the summer starts. I will be that frazzled mama with bags under her eyes at the pool chasing my toddler with a newborn strapped to my chest.
Oh and because I am so in love with Lucy's coming home outfit (which includes a precious jumpsuit, bonnet, headband, booties, and muslin blanket), I want to offer one lucky reader a $75 gift card to Baby Beau and Belle. They sell beautiful layettes, gowns, dresses, outfits, and accessories for boys and girls for all occasions- coming home, baptism, first birthday, flower girl. Goodluck!
