Baby Wearing

I remember people asking me after I had Ford how the heck I kept my house so clean. My answer was always the same... well the only place Ford would nap is while I was wearing him and moving so I took advantage of having to bounce around and kept my house spic and span. Dishes were done, the floors were mopped, and laundry was folded. The things we do to get our babies to sleep! I loved wearing Ford throughout the first year of his life to grocery shop, walk around the mall, and just to get stuff done at home. Now that I am a mama of two (still unbelievable!), baby wearing is not just convenient but necessary! We've spent most of Lucy's life at home but know that we can't hibernate forever and before I know it we'll be at the pool most days. I hate the thought of Lucy being in her car seat while we are out and about with big brother and I want to ensure she stays cool in the Texas heat so I was excited to explore baby wearing options for her. We just got the Baby More Co. Baby Wrap and are loving it! The fabric is stretchy, pretty light weight, and easy to use. I previously had a Moby wrap and man was that difficult to use, way too much fabric! The Baby More comes in 4 pretty colors too! Baby wearing is a God send and I know Lucy will be spending lots of time strapped to my chest!

Lucy's first Target trip, 17 days old!

Remind me not to look at swimsuits 2 weeks postpartum...

Love this - I was just researching wraps today and talking with someone about taking my babes out in public pretty soon after birth. Glad to see other people don't hibernate forever!

I loved discovering the Ergo with Drew - I agree the Moby is too thick and too much fabric! I don't want to look at bathing suits 29 months postpartum. Ha!

You look adorable! I bought an Ergo on super sale at Target when Weston was 6 months old, but he wasn't a huge fan so I never really used it. I'm planning to start earlier with this baby, but am a little nervous about it! I love the idea of a wrap, but it also completely overwhelms me!!!

It's so wonderful that you're into babywearing! It's such a wonderful way to keep your baby close. :) It looks like there's a lot of slack in your wrap though, it would be much more comfortable and secure for you both if you tie it tighter. It took me a long time to figure out that I had to tie my stretchy wrap tight to my body with no slack before I put my daughter in, they do stretch quite a bit! There are some amazing groups on Facebook if you want to connect with other babywearing Mamas, and I'm willing to bet there's a group for Austin. There are actually some really cute chevron patterned carriers out there, I think of you every time I see them. :) Thanks so much for sharing your journey with the world, I love reading about your beautiful family. Sending love from Canada! God bless you.
