Adoption is Hard

This is not a post I ever thought I'd write and I'm not sure how I'll put my thoughts into words. We are saddened to share that we will not be bringing baby girl into our family. She was born last week, healthy and beautiful, and her sweet mama decided she could not place her for adoption. We have loved this baby girl and her mama for 18 weeks and are grieving deeply but trust that the Lord is sovereign, good, and faithful (was, is, and will be). We believe this is just the beginning of a beautiful story He is writing, for our good but ultimately His glory. Our house can flood and our adoption can fail but our hope in you Jesus will not be shaken.

We are asking for prayers and also privacy as we start the healing process and navigate what is next for us. #hartlittlesadopt #adoptionisbeautiful #adoptionishard

Many prayers! This is one of the things that I'm terrified about happening when my husband and I finally go the route of adoption (Still hoping for a little Gilbert miracle!). I hope your hearts heal and you are matched again soon!

I am so sorry for the sorrow you are experiencing as you grieve this loss. Psalm 138:8, "The Lord will work out his plans for my life, for his faithful love endures forever."

While I do not know you personally, I have truly enjoyed your posts about your beautiful children, your hubby, your family as a whole. I have prayed often for your family through your adoption process. I pray for complete peace and comfort for your family during this time. I pray that you will be blessed with the child GOD has for your family, that even as I write this, the next chapter has already started and will bring you, and your family, much joy and many blessings.
I am also praying for this mother that has decided to keep her baby, that all goes well for them in their future as a family.
Keep the faith, GOD has it all worked out.

Ruthie and Jon,

I'm so very sorry to hear of this development. However, as you and Jon know, Jesus has something else in mind for your beautiful family. God is holding you in the palm of His hand. Believe it.

Sending prayers to you and your family every day!

Devastating news and I'm very sorry for your broken hearts. Keep the faith and I pray you find comfort in knowing a child is out there
that will love coming to your home at some point. Big hugs and hang in there. I had family that went through the exact same thing and it's a very hard time.

Oh, I am so, so sorry to hear this. I can only imagine how broken your hearts must be. I have a dear friend who went through the same thing just a couple of months ago. I will keep you, your family, that sweet little girl, and her mama in my prayers.
