4 days on the 4th

Today feels like the first day of school and the end of an awesome summer. For some reason, being off for 4 straight days felt like a mini summer vacation and I'm sad to see the holiday weekend go! I hope that once the baby comes I get better about taking pictures but I managed to snap some with my phone in between swimming, eating, and relaxing.

The 4th of July we spent a solid 12 hours at my parents house with family and friends in the pool, playing games, and of course eating. We were hoping baby Hart may declare his independence from my belly on Thursday but that didn't happen so floating in the pool for 8 hours was fine with me. (no lie, my belly looks 3x bigger this morning than in this picture)

Wednesday night we had seen fireworks in our neighborhood so we weren't too bummed that we didn't see many on Thursday. I think next year will be so cute with our little man running around!! But for now, our furry little man had fun at the pool and trying to teach his 9 month old cousin to throw his ball.

I'm sad I didn't get many pics of Embry but she had fun in the pool and made a few wardrobe changes of course.

Stole this from my sis!
This is what 12 hours at Mimi and Papa's fun house will do to ya!

Friday we worked at and around the house a bit and headed back to my parents house. We are so lucky they live so close and that my siblings and I love hanging out and really enjoy each other's company.

Dinner out with the family...blue for boy!
(I realized I own a LOT of horizontal striped maternity clothes haha and this dress is officially retired, it's too darn tight)

We spent the rest of the weekend with friends from out of town, running errands, doing chores, and finishing the nursery!!!!!!!!!! I plan on taking pictures this week of the finished product and have the pictures ready to post when he is born and we announce his name. I can't believe it is done, y'all it is precious. His mimi got him a Pottery Barn Anywhere Chair that we put together on Saturday. Of course Ernie thought it was his and helped himself to cuddling and sitting in it. His head is blocking baby's name and I loved reading your name guesses on Instagram! The only hint I will give is that no one got it right :) (Ernie also loved sniffing and licking every inch of the activity mat I put together this weekend)

Saturday night we attended the gorgeous wedding of one of my longest friends. Jamie and I have known each other for almost 20 years and I still get teary eyed thinking of her singing "Heavenly Day" at our wedding 2.5 years ago. It was such a great night catching up with high school friends and my parents went too so that was really fun.

I woke up Sunday SORE from dancing 1.5 songs the night before!!! Okay it may have been due to the fact I am 9 months pregnant and wore heels the whole night but man I was feeling it. Jon and I attempted a slow song but the belly got in the way so we were rocking the middle school slow dance position.... and later in the night I got convinced to wobble.

The wedding was late so as we were driving home after midnight, I had my first real pregnancy emotional breakdown... but it was a GOOD one. I knew the date of Jamie's wedding before we got pregnant so when we found out our due date, I kept saying "okay baby can come after July 6th because I really want to go to this wedding!". Well now that the wedding was over, it was all sinking in. I gulped back monster tears and just kept telling Jon I cannot believe we will have a baby in mere days. Honestly my life is so much better than I could have ever imagined or ever felt I deserved and I feel so blessed to be living it with my husband. I think the next couple of weeks will continue to be a mess of emotions as we prepare for the sweetest gift of our son.

We'll be headed to our 36 week appointment this afternoon and we are really anxious/excited to see if I have made any progress towards labor. Be back tomorrow for a prego update. I am 9 months pregnant folks!!!!!!!!!!!

I am with Sarah..I thought some belly dances would have made him want to just dance right on outta there! Can't wait to see what name Ernie's rump was covering! Glad you had a great 4th weekend girl. It's always a nice little "summer break" ;)

You look fabulous at 9 months pregnant! I know the last month or so is tough, but don't wish him out too early! Babies need those last weeks to finish up lung development and to grow bigger and stronger. My first baby came at 35 weeks and because of being early, spent 3 weeks in the hospital :( Only another week until you're full-term!

I also can't believe you wore heels, I was at a wedding when I was 34 weeks my heels stayed on for an hour then they came off, I also went into labor at that same wedding. Also take a picture daily, as you will want it for your memory. I wish i would have.
