5 years

Today Jon and I celebrate 5 years of marriage. Holy cow! As you can tell from the lack of new posts, life in the Hart household has been crazy but so good. I remember at my bridal shower answering questions about where we'd be in 5 years and I said we'd probably have 2 children and thought that was a little crazy. But here we are, February 5th, 2016 with a 2 year old and an almost 1 year old! Married life has been so sweet for us. Jon has been more than I could have ever imagined in a husband and now a father. He is so smart and motivated, generous and kind. He loves me so well and loves our children wildly. Looking back on our 5th year of marriage, our lives have been turned upside down with adding another baby into the mix but I think of nothing but good, happy times. I am a much better person being married to Jon, he encourages me, supports me in the 1000's of hobbies and ideas I come up with, and he points me to Jesus. Despite having 2 under 2, we've managed to keep the spark alive and I am eternally grateful for babysitters and family to help us do that. In fact we are dropping off the kiddos this afternoon at my parents and get a whole night to ourselves! Being parents has forced us to become creative and intentional with the time we do have alone and I cherish those moments so much. We aren't going to night clubs or the hottest new restaurants but homemade smores in our kitchen and puzzles on the iPad make up my perfect night. You hear people say marriage is work and sure it is at times, especially when you add kiddos to the mix, but with Jon, it is the work you can't wait to wake up and go to. Cheers to 5 years, I can't wait to see where the 6th year of marriage brings us!

And because pictures of the two of us are hard to come by, here is my handsome man on a lunch date this week. And bottom picture is our family having dinner out by the lake on February 2nd... if that doesn't motivate you to move to Austin, I don't know what would!
