It's been 10 days

...since I've been in the office.

Today I head into the office for the first time in 10 days so today will be spent cleaning out my inbox, catching up on expense reports and doing post event work. It's nice getting out of the office every once and a while but I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things, and organize my life.

First of all, I just want to say I will never fly Delta again! Anyone else have a horrible experience flying Delta? 5 hour delays on the way there and 6 hour on the way back (which I didn't have to endure had Delta rebooked a flight for me ugh). Just had to get that out there. Friday I was supposed to get home at 10:30am and I didn't get home until 5:30p. Let's just say I spent some time in the Detroit airport letting out some angry tears :)

I must have been running on adrenaline after a lovely wake up call at 2am. A week without Jon and Ernie is hard so I wanted to spend as much time with them as possible. Ernie was being so darn cute (sorry for the picture overload).

10 hours of sleep was the best medicine for me and look what I found in my bed Saturday morning

My delays interferred with some dinner plans so we decided to spend the weekend catching up- laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc. It's extremely hard to get a workout in or eat healthy for that matter when I travel for work. It's little sleep, 8 hours on your feet, walking, dinners, parties, alcohol. I always feel so sluggish after a tradeshow so I was anxious to hit the gym. My little sister, Tomi, was in town for the weekend and Jon was her personal trainer...

Speaking of eating healthy...I realized how funny it is that I buy 3 gallons of milk a week...for my husband!!! I only use milk in cereal a couple times a week but Jon goes through a gallon every other day. You would think we had a couple of kiddos in the house (we will need a separate milk fridge when we do!)

I spent Saturday afternoon catching up on my domestic duties. I ended up making a batch of fried rice, homemade sugar cookies & royal icing for a bachelorette party, sweet potato chips, edamame dip, Ernie treats, and enchiladas. It's funny how badly I crave peanut butter and jelly after I travel...I think it would be my last meal if I had to choose.

It was the perfect weekend to cuddle up and watch the rain but I feel bad Mr. Ernie didn't get walked...he SO wanted to go out and play

Church outfit on Sunday

After church I took some maternity shots of my sister and niece who makes her debut in 3 months. Here is a teaser, they are beautiful!

It was crazy how hot and sunny it was and no lie, the storms rolled in within minutes later that afternoon. Jon and I cuddled up on the couch and caught some 30 Rock. We happened to watch the Christmas episode and we were getting so excited for fall and wintertime. Jon is already planning Halloween decor and we've decided where we will put our 9.5 ft Christmas tree (anxious much?).

I love this picture, Ernie looks like he is thinking, "dad, I am getting too old for this"

We are almost done with the guest room, I just have some finishing touches to add but it will be all ready for its first guests on Friday! I have a busy week (surprise, surprise)...sister night tonight, meeting with some new church friends, prepping for Friday night ;-). I hope you all have a great week!

I love your church outfit, adorable!

Sounds like your flight was disastrous! We just flew across the country on southwest, we did have stops....but everything was on time and their new planes are really nice! Good luck on your first day back at work!

Wow!! Your life has been pretty crazy lately! So glad you are back home, I feel so off when out of town because it gets me out of my routine.

Does he really go through 3 gallons of milk in a week?!
I have 3 kids, me and my husband and we don't even go through that much! Not nearly that much! MInd blowing I tell ya, mind blowing.
Also, I've heard a LOT of people talk about how much they hate delta!

awe!! wow I am surprised you had such a horrible time with Delta. Normally that is my issue with US Airways, Did you complain to see if you can't get a comp or something? and can I live in your house? You made all that home made yummy food!! sounds so good!!! Glad you had a good weekend though!

Happy Monday.

My fiance' is a milk-a-holic too but definitely not 3 gallons a week...he's about a gallon a week. Gosh I do those cartons of milk Coconut milk to be exact and it takes me 3 weeks just to go though one!

Omg Ruthie I feel your pain, Delta is THE WORST! Unfortunately I've had to fly them a lot since my family all lives in Michigan and Detroit is a Delta hub so they usually have the cheapest flights home, but they are so awful. I've had SO many delays, including on during the holidays where I was stuck in Atlanta overnight because I missed my connection...seriously, they're the worst.

Sounds like a great weekend minus the weather and the flight fiasco!

The pictures of ernie are adorable, there could never be too many!

How do you make your sweet potato chips? Are they healthy and easy? Please share!

Ernie kills me every time! Love that little guy. Yes, Delta is TERRIBLE! I avoid using them at all costs when I have to fly.

Oh the Detroit airport I never fly in or out of there I don't get delayed. But to come home to that makes it all worth while

I love Eernie's sleeping picture. Thanks to him I now have a Frenchy obsession. Glad you finally made it home. I don't think I will ever fly delta after hearing all that.

Ernie is adorable and so well (loved) cared for. That always makes me happy to see! Also - at some point would you share your edamame dip recipe? It sounds like it could be amazing!

You are one busy lady! And guess what? I went to the gym for the first time in 6 months tonight! Yay, me! Seeing other bloggers get their booties to the gym has inspired me! ;) And can you believe all the rain we have gotten?! Glad it's over for awhile. Have a great rest of the week!!
