Beer bread
It's a funny thing. I hate beer (I mean I hate it) but I loveeeeee beer bread. Something about the sweet with a hint of savory, it's one of my favorite homemade breads. This particular recipe is incredibly easy and if you keep brews in your fridge, you probably have all the ingredients. Paired with a crockpot soup or big bowl of chili, this bread is perfect for the winter (or any time really!).
Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
12 ounces beer
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1. Mix all ingredients thoroughly to create a thick dough
2. Pour into a greased loaf pan
3. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 55 minutes (more or less depending on your oven)

I'm also not a huge fan of beer, much to my husband's dismay. This actually looks like it would be good. Thanks for sharing! =)

I make beer bread from the Tastefully Simple ix all the time, but I've never made it from scratch before. I think I might try it!

Oh my, that looks so good! It almost looks like flaky biscuits and well, that means it must be delish! Definitely going to have to try this one!
Sounds delicious! I am going to try this recipe tomorrow
Perfect timing, I'm making soup tomorrow :) Thanks Ruthie!
Oh, pinning this! I know a woman who makes beer bread and refuses to share her recipe....I bet this is the same thing (and it is SO good!)
I LOVE beer, and I am sooo excited to try this! Thank you for sharing!!!! :)
I still have yet to make a beer bread recipe with actual beer. I've made it with the leftover grains from when Ben brews it and you can also make cookies with it, but I need to try this out too. I'm sure Ben would love it!
I'm with you- beer = yuck. But this might be worth trying! There are quite a few good culinary uses for beer.
I too hate the taste of beer (I mean who says, it's hot let me get me a big glass of yeast?) - but we make drunk chicken with a beer can in the middle of a whole chicken and I love that. So weird how things taste different when they are combined with other ingredients! I definitely plan on making this bread.
I’m not a beer fan either, but would try this.

I had made this bread using your recipe before and just remembered it today! It's soooooo good! So of course I had to pop on over to your blog and find the recipe! The hubs and I are both excited because we're making it again tonight with chili. Yum! Thank you!
This is a great basic recipe! I have made it several times now. I have been experimenting with adding a little honey, bee pollen and various seeds. All have turned out well!
