Stop Glorifying Busy

"Stop glorifying busy"

I saw this on Instagram this morning and just had to share it. Ugh one of my biggest pet peeves is seeing people post how busy busy they are. We are all busy! Life is full and busy is good. Please don't complain :-) enjoy the season folks! As I grow older, I feel less stressed around the holidays so I can't complain right now. We've got my company holiday party tonight and a few fun Christmas-y things this weekend before the holiday actually starts. And we've been trying to watch lots of Christmas movies and I know A Christmas Story and National Lampoon are in the queue for the weekend.

I know I posted this on Facebook and Instagram but I just had to share on my blog. I had this picture of Ernie pencil sketched and I love it so much I could cry. I used Valerie from Valpo Studios and would you believe it was her first time drawing a pet?!? The drawing is pretty big and we are going to have it matted and framed.

Lots of Embry cuddles last week when she came into town. It's a toss up between a little monkey and a bear (Jon loved the bear, for Baylor of course).

Ernie and his 2nd favorite toy...empty water bottles. He is so funny and every time Jon opens a green tea, Ernie will patiently and anxiously wait at his feet for him to finish it. I usually have to throw away a couple each night because I find half chewed bottles hidden all over the house.

I've been wanting to make these for a while and finally got around to my first batch of The Pioneer Woman Cinnamon Rolls. I may or may not post the recipe on the blog but the recipe can be found here. I made them for Christmas morning and a few Christmas gifts so I wanted to get them done before hand and I am GLAD I did. They were super involved and messy. My kitchen looked like a buttery, sugary tornado flew through. Can't wait to get my mouth on these!

Tomorrow I hope to post some pictures of our house all decorated for Christmas...before signing off for a few days. And in case you missed any of these posts, they may be worth checking out...

Biblical Forgiveness
How to Forgive

Is everyone still in uproar about Instagram? I plan on keeping it, anyone else? And speaking of instagram, if you haven't watched this parody video...WATCH IT RIGHT NOW!

Tonight it is supposed to freeze in Austin....and be in the 70's this weekend haha.

Oh my gosh, I totally agree with your busy comments..... I hear so often, "I am too busy", "we are so busy".....etc. Yes, you are right, everyone is busy. And everyone's definition of busy is different. Seriously, do less or deal with it and stop complaining!

I totally want to vege out and watch Christmas movies this weekend before we travel to see family.

And I LOVE that drawing of Ernie! She did a fantastic job!

Guilty. I am always "busy". I know if my time management was better I wouldn't be so "busy" all the time! I'm also a person who needs a lot of down/me time so that cuts into the time I make for friends/family too. I'm kinda a workaholic so I'm always on my computer working!

great post. I can totally relate to the being busy thing. Erinie is SO cute and that drawing is amazing. that baby is adorable too. I am so glad you are having fun with her and that you love being an aunt. I asked my mom if we could watch A Christmas story since its something we do every year and she told me that we don't have that movie. I guess we are going to have to fix that and go purchase the movie. Thanks for your blog! its always a joy to read and always fun to hear your thoughts on different subjects. I hope that you Jon have fun at the Christmas party and that you both have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Blessings! <3

I think I've seen that statement somewhere lately! ;o) I love this post. I still can't get over that drawing of Ernie! Just when I thought I couldn't love him anymore! I need to get one of Mr. Howie done! Hope you have a great Holiday!

Awesome post girl :) Yes we might be 'busy' but why is that a bad thing?! It means we are blessed with cars to take us places, money to spend on gifts or food, family and friends to see and visit with- etc! I wrote a post about not complaining a couple days ago. A good reminder!

And the pic of Ernie is AMAZING! Can't believe that's her first pet drawing!

Your little neice is just the cutest. My first thought was she looked like she was in a bear outfit, so I'm going with Jon on this one.

As for that drawing, I'm definitely going to have to have one of Louie done. M was super impressed with just the photo you took, let alone the drawing :)

Happy almost weekend!

I really could care less about Instagram "selling" photos or whatever. I'm pretty sure they couldn't make a dime off any of mine! It's mostly pictures of me or my husband making hideous faces haha!

Wow! Love the sketch. It looks amazing. hahaha. Empty water bottles! Chara is the same way! Chara patiently waits for the peanut butter jar, too. Each time we open it she sits nicely until the day she actually gets it and then she goes crazy with it for hours! So much goodness in there! Ha. We finally take it away once she starts going for the wrapper. hehe. man. You gotta love them! :) So much joy. In the littlest of things.
