Last weekend Jon and I took Ford to The Windy City! I was born in a Chicago suburb and my extended family, who is a big part of our lives, still live up there. Jon and I have been together 3 times and this time was all about Mr. Ford. We didn't even go into the city but spent our time in Naperville and Wheaton showing off our little man. We both feel abundantly blessed that Ford not only has lots of family down in Texas who love the pants off of him but family all over the map who love him. I also feel lucky that we are so close to my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins despite living a plane ride away. Our family is supportive, hilarious, generous, and made our little family feel so stinkin' special. It was a weekend of eating (lots and lots and lots of eating), game playing, Ford watching, corn hole-ing, and belly laughing. Saturday was the hottest day in Chicago in 6 months! This post is basically a picture dump because I don't want to forget these precious times before my baby grows up before my eyes. We also celebrated Jon's 31st birthday while we were there....complete with 3 cakes, Jon Daly's and these pictures.

This is Oscar Ford, who is Ford's great, great grandpa! He thought the letters on his gravestone were too light so he went out there with black paint to darken them. He was 93!

Giving Malley lots of kisses

I've never heard of anyone with the name Malley before, especially a doggie. Ha! How funny.
I don't think I knew you were born near Chicago. My aunt and her family lived in Naperville for a few years when I was a kid. It looks like y'all had a great time visiting family. I love the glimpses into your family history!

LOVE those videos and his sweet little face! Also adore the "he's not as cute on video" haha isn't that how it always works?
I didn't realize you were from Chicago! I grew up in Naperville but never left the area (except for college) so still live downtown. I'm glad you enjoyed your time back at home. :-)
