Cheesy Italian Quick Bread
We are carb lovers in the Hart household. No meal is complete with at least one carb and there is no way Jon or I could ever do the Atkin's diet. Hot french bread, warm buttery croissants, Italian breadsticks. Bread (and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups) is the key to my heart. I've been making this cheesy Italian quick bread for a while now and keep meaning to share it with you guys! It is easy to throw together and I bet you have most of the ingredients in your kitchen already. It's so good y'all. SO good. Too good that Jon and I tend to eat all but a sliver in one sitting. Yikes! It's a staple in our house and it will be in yours too.
Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp oregano
3 tbsp cold butter
1 egg
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
1. Mix together all ingredients except last 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese. Some people like to mix dry ingredients separate from wet ingredients and then mix the 2 but I just go for it. Add extra milk if the dough is too dry
2. Spray an 8x8 or 9in circle pan with baking spray and spoon in dough.
3. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 mozzarella
4. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes until golden brown
5. Enjoy!
