I could definitely get used to this holiday in the middle of the week thing...work 2 days...1 day off...work 2 days...2 days off. We didn't make big plans for the 4th and decided to go with the flow.
Tuesday evening we were upstairs in our gameroom and heard fireworks. Our house has a view of the golf course clubhouse and they did a big show. Perfect way to watch fireworks (and Ernie was so enamored)
This is NOT a pregnancy announcement...just showing you my obsession with watermelon lately :-). Dang these things are heavy and I will look ridiculous pregnant haha
Wednesday morning we went to our neighborhood parade that included a firetruck, 1 old car and about a million kids...we were definitely an anomaly in our neighborhood haha. We tried to go play tennis but the courts were booked :-(. We don't play competitively but tennis is a great workout and lots of fun. We were sure to dress patriotically
Someone else loves tennis too
We spent the afternoon at my parents house for a pool party and bbq, it was perfect.
Little brother
After 6 hours at the pool, we left and were showered and in bed by 9:30p watching fireworks and relaxing. One thing I love about my hubby is we can spend so much quality time together, uninterrupted by TV, phones, etc. We are good at unplugging...
In other news....
Jon had a bad allergic reaction to my parents cat on Monday. I feel so bad when this happens :-( and Jon loves cats!
We are almost done with our guest bedroom and here is a sneak peek. Life has been a little busy and I have a feeling I won't finish it until my deadline of July 20th :-). Because a chevron wall isn't enough...
There are so many flies in our house right now, it's weird and gross. Any tips for getting rid of them?
My grandparents are in town so we will be doing the family thing tonight :-)
Oh and you still have a few days to enter to win a 1 year subscription to Lucky magazine I posted yesterday with Pineapple Lily. Be sure to enter here.
I have really been missing new episodes of Ellen. My after work ritual was to turn it on right when I got home while unpacking, eating a snack, etc. Ernie wasn't a fan but I would always pick him up when she danced and we would have our own dance party. Can't wait til the new season starts.
Have a great weekend!

LOVE those pics...and your dog is just adorable. I totally agree about Ellen...I'll turn it on and then remember that they're reruns. Dang it!
Oh, and I think we should institute a weekly "holiday in the middle of the week" rule. It's great isn't it? Happy Friday!

Looks like a fun week! Except for Greg's eye!!! :(
Love the wall!! Can't wait to see the whole room!!
I am laughing so hard at Ernie in a bathing suit, hahaha.
Happy Friday, pretty girl!
I just love your frenchie so much! Love the bikini picture haha
We should totally have every wednesday as a holiday during the work week! :-) It was amazing! Ernie cracks me up. Love his lil pictures! Glad y'all had a good 4th!
Ok so we may need some tips on how to unplug. Lol we tried it last sun for about 10 hours but we for bored! I think it's because there really isn't much to do in my town and it's soo hot.
Love Ellen! I need to go watch all the videos on her YouTube. I always get tickled so much.
Have a great weekend! :-)
The holiday in the middle of the week was SO nice, wasn't it? Except it was really hard to go back Thursday! Hope you had a great time w/ the family. It looks like you did. Ernie is a doll.
Cute pictures! Love the watermelon one :) I can't wait to see the new bedroom!!
Looks like a lovely holiday! Let's make that watermelon bump a reality here! C'mon!
Okay, seriously, watermelons are ridiculously heavy. We had a left over one from the 4th that I took over to a friend yesterday and I was afraid I was going to drop the sucker the whole time. It gave me a whole new understanding of the "I carried a watermelon" scene in Dirty Dancing.
omg you'd be the cutest preggo ever! :)
Ugh, we have flies, too & I don't know how to get rid of them either. Let me know if you find out anything!!
Love the watermelon bump, and I can't wait to see the guest bedroom reveal!
Jon looks possessed in that picture. But Ernie with the tennis ball makes up for it.
adore your accent wall(s). I am in desperate need of some change in our house and I think a stenciled wall is in the making.. once I convince the hubs. And poor Jon! Allergies are no fun.
