If you've spent anytime on the internet or Instagram, you'd know the essential oils are "in" right now. I am normally somewhat weary of certain internet trends and wait until they fizzle out quickly but something about essential oils grabbed me. Seeing friends post about their babies sleeping through the night despite cutting 4 teeth thanks to lavender oil or flu symptoms diminishing within hours because of thieves or lemon. Our family seems to always get hit with a slew of sicknesses and they come on pretty strong. Ford struggles with congestion and wheezing and Jon has terrible allergies. Nose Frida, steam showers, Dayquil, Tylenol...nothing was cutting it. That is when I turned to Young Living Essential Oils and I'm kicking myself for not jumping on the wagon sooner!
Essential oils are all natural oils derived from mainly plants. There are hundreds of single oils and blends and they date back to biblical days (think Frankincense and Myrrh) to help heal and cure all sorts of illnesses and ailments. The oil is taken from the most important part of the plant, its "blood" basically. It is the part of the plant that, for example, protected it from disease or insects and healed it when the plant was injured. Without this part of the plant, it would die, and so it is compared to our blood. It is SUPER concentrated, anywhere from 10,000-100,000 times more concentrated than herbs! So, one drop can do amazing things. Some people can put a drop of essential oil on their feet and taste it within 30 seconds. Pretty impressive stuff!

Young Living oils are 100% pure, and the the process from
seed to seal is so controlled so that there are no chemicals used. Because of this, you can ingest Young Living oils, where
other brands they don't recommend it. So, you can use essential oils
diffused, applied topically or by ingestion.
My favorite oils
You can diffuse oils to improve your mood {think aromatherapy without the chemicals in candles}, even helping people get off anti-depressants just by using essential oils! Peace & Calming is a great oil for this. It is awesome at helping kids {and grownups} fall asleep faster and sleep longer. When Ford wakes up extra cranky or sensitive, I rub P&C on his heels and I can instantly notice a calming come over him. It’s also been shown to help people stop snoring and others with teeth grinding!
Peppermint is another great one for kids. It lowers kids’ temperatures naturally and helps with nausea, headaches and congestion. I plan on arming myself with peppermint for my next pregnancy to ward off
Now that I am a mommy, I am willing to try anything natural and homeopathic before I go to the medicine cabinet. My story is small in this because there are so many incredible success stories from people using essential oils. ADHD controlled, cancer scans clear, asthma, diabetes, and other diseases healed. Check out these incredible testimonies here.

Interesting... I think I might have to get some of the Thieve's oil. My wife has a pretty weak immune system and this might help her boost it some. I like that you can dilute and ingest or rub on the feet.
We are currently in the process of replacing all chemical cleaners in our house- so the idea of using essential oils for some is really appealing.
I might have to grab some peppermint oil ASAP..just like with pregnancy number 1, this all day sickness is killing me again :( and Zofran just isn't helping. Thanks for the tips!
I really have an interest in Thieves oil!
We use essentials oils, but through a different company. Interesting how all this works!
I would like to try Lavender and Thieves oils!
My daycare provider uses these oils all the time. She gave me some and I actually used the peppermint this morning on my engorged boobs. I'm done breastfeeding but it's taking what seems like forever for my body to know that it's done. I heard peppermint could help so I'm trying it. My daycare provider says she mixes drops with coconut oil and rubs that on to help the oils last longer and easy to put on!
Can't wait to try lavender! Or I have also heard about essential oils for teething!! I was planning on getting some oils soon so this would be amazing!
Would like to try thieves and one for headaches!
Would love to try the thieves oil!
This is great - I've also seen the trend around all the blogs and am really interested in them. I am super interested in a more natural way to relieve stress, headaches, allergies, etc without popping medicine for them - I am all for it! Will probably try out some of these products regardless of the giveaway. Thanks friend!
I have heard amazing success stories from using EO's. Would love, love, love to try them! I would love to try the Thieves oil for allergies/etc and the Lavender to help my baby sleep better ;)
I want to try Lavender
I have been dying to try the oils and have been following a few bloggers that have started recently. With a notorious bad sleeper I am dying to try the lavendar on my daughter.
I've been reading up on essential oils and are very interested. I would like to try peppermint, and theieves. And any of them really. I'm all for natural ways to feel better and take care of your body.
I'd love to try thieves and any that will help my daughter sleep! hah!
I've always loved lavender, eucalyptus, and tea tree. The lemongrass is also great for freshening up a room without using air fresheners with added chemicals.
I have been wanting to try essential oils for a while now but just didn't really have a lot of information on them. I would love to try peppermint, peace & calming, and lavender. I am sure there are many more I want to try though. I am going to sign up for the webinar too to get more information. Thanks for this giveaway!!
I'd like to try lavender! :)
I've been wanting to try them as well but haven't been able to afford it right now, unfortunately. I would love to try the ones you mentioned and see how well they would work on my 5 year old and 9 month old.
I've never used oils, but I hate taking medicine and definitely have been researching this. I'd love to try out the peppermint because I always get an upset stomach, and the Thieve's oil seems awesome too!
Thieves, Peace & Calming, Lavender & Peppermint would most likely be the first four I would like to sample.
My kiddos are 5 & 3 and we all suffer from allergies and just the idea of being able to naturally relieve the symptoms intrigues me.
I've just discovered tea tree oil. It's also an antibacterial and I like the way it smell.s
I've heard so much about essential oils but I've not tried any yet. Like you said, I think it's past time for me to jump on the wagon train and get to using them. My fitness trainer and yoga instructor as a lavender spray that she spritzes in the main group fitness room before a class and it smells amazing. It often smells sweaty and musty right before yoga, but the spray helps a lot. I'm intrigued by the oils and their healing powers. Kamden is wearing an Amber necklace, why not give the essential oils a try too!!!!
Hi Ruthie,
I started using oils fairly recently and really love them! I use Peppermint all the time! I'm interested in trying the Young Living oils, as I regularly use another brand. Thanks for this fun giveaway!
Oils are amazing!! We have loved them and actually oils are what has kept my 2 year olds asthma under control. I've been working closely with an aromatherapist and have learned a lot. Lots if safety tips with them too. I've learned that peppermint is on the "not recommended" list for children under the age if 5 and eucalyptus shouldn't be around kiddos under the age of 10 etc. peppermint like you said, cools the body which in turns can slow or stop breathing in a young child. Just wanted to pass those along because of how quickly oils are becoming trendy, not much if the safety aspect is known. Search for "scentsable health" on Facebook. Shannon has over 100 hrs of aromatherapy school and is passing along the info she's learning about essential oils!
I've used the peppermint oil for migraines and it works like a charm! I'd love to get the whole set!
I am 18 weeks pregnant and have been having horrible migraines and need to see a neurologist. I heard that there are some essential oils that help with migraines and this would be a great way to be able to try some.
I would love to try lavender. It's my favorite sent and my 7 month old loves the lavender in our garden.
I'm very interested in hearing more about help for TMJ. Signed up for webinar too.
Ahh!! It's so fun to see a post on this! I use the exact same oils as you, and we have a lot of the same favorites. The only other one I would add to my "favorites" list is lemon and endoflex (for hypothyroidism). I have to admit that I'm pretty hesitant about things like this that seem to just work with not much reasoning behind it. But seriously, these oils have literally changed my life!! I am losing weight, thinking more clearly, not getting sick, getting better faster, I have lowered my hypothyroid medication for the first time in 10 years (my doctor was shocked) and my hormone levels are finally getting it together! Thanks for sharing your experiences with them and giving me some good ideas for other ones to try!
I love to try thieves!
I definitely want to try the peace & calming - would love to see how it helps with my sleep!
I would love to try the Theives oil!
Would love to try some! Esp the lavender!
I've been dying to try oils! More specifically any that will help Garrett sleep. At (nearly) 10 months he's still awake 3-4 times in his 7 hours of sleep a night.
I've also heard a lot.. would love to try on my 8 month old :)
I have been looking into EOs for a while now and have really been wanted to try them! This would be a great opportunity to get my foot in the door!
Please, please, PLEASE be careful using essential oils. There are several that are unsafe for children under two, pregnant or nursing mothers, and pets. Just because oils are natural does not mean you shouldn't educate yourself from reliable sources (meaning, people who aren't out to make money off you). I personally use oils myself, but you I really urge you to investigate further!

Lavender!
I'm very interested in learning more about Young Living essential oils-- trying to get started on our "oil" journey.
Stress away and valor for anxiety! I have heard they are amazing together for it!
I totally agree - essential oils can be beneficial for you and your family! But, like Marie H and Dana Smith mentioned, please be very, very careful/informed, especially if you are told to "ingest" them. There is no solid research to prove that putting these oils directly *into* your body (via tongue/mouth) is safe! Some are also not safe for children under certain ages.
I found this article really helpful/informative: http://leetea.hubpages.com/hub/Why-Are-All-the-Articles-that-Suggest-Ingesting-Essential-Oils-is-Safe-Written-by-Young-Living-Sales-Reps
