Homemade by Jon Hart

If you've put 2 and 2 together, you may be thinking that my husband is the creator and heir of the beautiful Jon Hart luggage line but I have to break the bad news. He isn't. When we met, I was thinking to myself "please please please be a part of the Jon Hart line!" (aka DISCOUNTS on those unbelievably expensive pieces of luggage). If you've never heard of Jon Hart, you may not have been on a college campus in years because it is all the rage with the 20 somethings. Leather, monogrammed backpacks, totes and makeup bags for men and women. I received my first Jon Hart piece from my mom at one of my bridal showers. Jon Hart, meet Jon Hart.

(it's hard to see but my initials, RLH, are in the middle)

So I've gotten over the fact that my hubby has no connection to the famous designer, Jon Hart, but MY Jon sure does have a knack for creativity. When we first started dating, we had numerous inside jokes and Jon would always say "I am going to make you a shirt with that on it!" and that in itself became a running inside joke. When we became "Facebook official" (the only legit way to spread the word duh), Jon gave me this as a gift...

He took this picture a couple of weeks ago and the shirt is almost 2 years old so it has a little wear and tear but it reads "Taken" with awesome iron-on velvet letters. Pretty cute huh? I also got this handmade shirt below. Ridiculous can have many different meanings...

Rarely does Jon actually call me 'Ruthie' and 'baby girl' was the first nickname that stuck. The usuals are 'girlie' 'chick pea' and 'chicken pot pie'.

This past Christmas we had already been showered in gifts from our previous wedding shower and knew we would be getting lots for another wedding shower and our actual wedding in February so we decided to do low key gifts to each other. Originally, we were JUST supposed to do a homemade gift which of course grew into more but here is what I got from Jon...

Jon has great taste in shirts because all of these are jersey knit from Target, they are so comfy! You may recognize the WIFE shirt from our honeymoon pics. I plan to share my homemade gift to Jon someday, that is if I can find it!

We already talk about how we can't wait to have little bambinos and outfit them in homemade onesies and shirts...we should really start writing down our ideas!

And here I thought I was the only person on the world who nicknamed people Chicken Pot Pie! Just for the record, your Jon Hart is much more attractive than the bag...although don't get me wrong, I love a good bad as much as the next bag enthusiast! Oh, and your boobs look great in that tshirt!...what? Every girl wants to know what makes the girls look good, right?...k, now you think I'm weird...
