A post about everything (and nothing)

Thank you all so much for the uplifting comments on yesterday's post. I was in tears reading most of them and had no idea so many of you have lost parents and in laws as well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, you have mine.

This week has felt like an entire month so you can imagine my delight when I woke up at 6:30a this morning, knowing it was actually Friday. Jon has been gone since Wednesday and gets home this afternoon so I am anxious to see him (and he's anxious to see his car too). Speaking of the car, you know what sucks...needing something in the garage that is blocked by a manual transmission car that you have no idea how to drive. And your husband is gone... haha

Tomorrow is my sister's baby shower and I can't tell you how excited I am. No lie, I started making decorations and coming up with plans the day after she announced it was a girl. This will be our 3rd big party in 3 weeks so after Saturday, our home is officially closed for summer entertaining. Sorry friends...someone invite us over!

This is totally irrelevant but yesterday I mowed the front AND back yard. Call me crazy but I really enjoy it. It's quite time and I am a perfectionist so I love seeing the straight lines I cut. We have plans later tonight and I didn't want Jon to come home from a week of traveling and have to cut the yard.

Chunky can sense when I am leaving and wants to be on top of me (so I won't leave)

Our pet's heads are falling off!!!!!!!!

Besides people thinking I am 15 years old most of the time, it is nice to be smaller than my little sister. Why? Hand me ups! Every so often I will get stacks of clothes she's grown out or no longer wants and it's like Christmas for me, since I am not much of a shopper. She gave me a huge bag this week and look what happened to be inside...

What on earth am I going to do with a leather bustier?! hahhaha

I am more of a jeans and pony tail kind of gal. Last weekend we went to dinner AT the movies and saw Ted. It was eh. We love Family Guy so it was funny to see all the voice actors and subtle references but it was 100% predictable.

Jon is loving my new camera lens (50mm 1.8) and of course, Ernie is the perfect little model

My latest mid afternoon work snack... try it

Looking at this walking up our staircase never gets old...

When Jon is gone, I get to catch up on all my crappy shows but for some reason I've been burnt out. I haven't been watching Real Housewives and I am not really watching much Olympics. Honestly all I wanted to do was watch 30 Rock but not with him gone so I looked for a new show on Netflix. Since last night at 8pm, I've watched 5 episodes of Better Off Ted, I love it! It reminds me of 30 Rock and is hilarious. I highly recommend it.

One last thing before this post gets incredibly random (okay that already happened) but I have these awesome black capri sweatpants that I have been totally disguising as work pants. Anyone else do this?

I actually love mowing the lawn too! I always love seeing how pretty it looks when it's done, and the straight lines get me too! HAHA :)

I love mowing the lawn too! I love the smell of the grass, actually.

Girl you need to rock that bustier, at least for Jon if nothing else ;)

Hope the shower goes well, can't wait to see the details! Enjoy having Hubsy back home and give Ernie a kiss for me...hehe!

If I had comfy black capris that fit well I would definitely call them work pants!

Well first off, we need to change the fact that you don't know how to drive a standard ha!

And I still have two pair of yoga pants I bought my freshman yr in college and still use those as dress pants ;P No one knows the difference ha!

Hope you're doing well!

It's great that Jon uses your camera and takes pictures. Paul refuses to use my camera unless he has to (i.e. if I want to get a pic of myself and there's no one else around to do it but him) and the poor guy can't compose a pic at all. I end up at the bottom right-hand corner of the pic with empty space all around me.

I am pretty sure that the pic of you and the pony is my favorite. And you should ask your sister what the heck she's doing with a leather ditty. I would look like a sausage in that thing.

Hi there! I have cousins and old friends in Austin, but have never been. All of your great writing about it makes me need to visit! I'm so glad I "stumbled" upon your site!
