Thankful

Last night Jon and I were driving home from the lake and we were all smiles. We are in a fun, exciting season of our lives and marriage, and couldn't be more excited for the months to come. We've been stepping outside the box, meeting new friends and getting to know our neighbors, it is such a cool thing to see who the Lord brings into your life at different times. This weekend was filled with lots of sun, way too much food, good company, and luckily, lots of sleeping :-).

(yes he sleeps with his B in his mouth...obsessed?)

Friday at lunch my whole office went out on the lake on one of our coworker's houseboat so the mixture of lime-a-ritas (so bad because they are so good), too much sun and too little sunscreen made for an early bedtime...like the last time I looked at the clock was 9:50pm. Haha. Even our family administrative assistant was a little tired on Friday...

So if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you would have seen this insane sushi posted on Saturday. We spent the day downtown and in Central Austin so we had to get our fix of funky Austin food. I am not really a sushi fan but loved the idea of "Texas Sushi"

Brisket sushi on top, chicken fried steak sushi on the bottom

Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, tempura & white gravy

...only in Texas folks. If you are an Austinite, the place is Roll On Sushi Diner in Brentwood on Burnet just south of 2222.

And more yummy food was to be had that evening while cuddling our friends' sweet 2 month old baby girl.

Funny kiddo story: we went to the Hill Country Galleria and ate at one of our favorite restaurants, Mandola's, that has a playscape out back. We sat out there after dinner and a few little girls were so interested in our friend's baby. Asking how old, what was her name, etc. When she started crying, one of the little girls said, "Why don't you nurse her?". Haha that is a very observant big sister right there!

Coincidentally, yesterday we went out on the same lake (Lake Travis) on a party barge with our neighbors to celebrate their anniversary. It was a blast!! I am praying for life long friendships to be made on "The Holler"....what our neighbors have coined our street and group of houses.

In other news....

Jon found a hard boiled egg that resembled ET

We are really enjoying reading certain stories in the bible, stories that are SO different reading them as an adult rather than watching a cartoon as a child. We've always loved the name Samson but not so much after reading the real story in Judges.

Last Sunday we celebrated 1.5 years of marriage with a lazy day of movies, naps, and cuddling

I am mildly obsessed with Tookies treats....if you can hold out, you will have a chance to win some later this month on my blog!

My sister got me this adorable camera strap for taking her maternity pictures...I love it!

More on this later this week....

I have been stalking Tookies' etsy store since you mentioned them a few posts back. Then I saw they were based in Arkansas and I got overly excited because I live in Arkansas, hahaha. I can't wait to try to win me some! :)

What an answer to prayer that you guys are getting to make fun new friends in your neighborhood! Hopefully we aren't "the best" neighbors anymore considering you now have neighbors who have a boat! :) In all seriousness, I will be joining you in praying that you guys truly will make lifelong friends in "The Holler!" Who wouldn't love The Harts?
