Thoughts: this week has been so wonderful and emotional. On Monday we got to see our little guy for almost 30 minutes and in 3d and the rest of the day I was a blubbery mess thinking about him and looking at his sweet little face. As a first time mom I am not doubting the fact that he is healthy and growing on schedule, I just have some underlying fear since I have never been through this before so when they tell me he is as perfect as can be, it is almost surreal. I feel so blessed and undeserving of this healthy little boy. God is totally prepping my heart for the emotional rollercoaster we will jump on when he is born because everything from the kicks to hearing the heart beat and seeing his face on the screen just turn me into a puddle. If I love him this much already, what will it be like when I see him for the first time? Or when he babbles "mama" in a few months? I cannot wait!
Baby: more info on our doctor appointment below but baby Hart is cute as can be and growing! He's about a foot long (they can't get an accurate measurement because they move so much, and baby boy had his feet and arms above his head!) and measured 1lb 11oz.
Symptoms: 1/2 a Zofran pill at night and sometimes in the morning, depending on if I wake up running to the bathroom or not. I had my first bout of sciatic nerve pain from Friday night-Sunday night and it's been better since then. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do to help it but I am dealing with it.
Weight: 15lbs total. I am only going to weigh myself at the doctor from now on since the other scale I was using turned out to be wrong (a few weeks ago I was tracking at 17lb but since I only knew my weight at the doctor beforehand, I will stick with doc scale only).

Movement: oh yeah! The second I sit down for an extended period of time, my tummy turns into a wave pool. I think he's shy because I watch him kick and punch and then he stops when I call Jon over. He also didn't like the sonogram machine on Monday because anytime she would press on my belly, he would kick me pretty hard back.

Love your chevron wall! Too cute! :)
I find myself telling pregnant people this a lot lately but there is something you can do about sciatica. Go see a chiropractor who specializes in work with pregnant women and babies! Specifically someone who practices the Gonstead method. I have dealt with sciatica my whole life until I started getting chiropractic care and since working at a Chiropractic office I'm not sure at this point how many pregnant women have come to see my bosses and have had their low back pain alleviated. If you find a good one, it can be kind of life changing. I'd be happy to share more info with you if you're interested :)
I was OBSESSED with L's sonogram pics. I had them with me everywhere.
Good for you on taking a breastfeeding class. I didn't because I thought it would have been an easy, natural thing. Oopsies on that one!
You are too cute! I bet seeing baby boy in 3D was the best. I would watch that video all the time!
Ruthie,
I came to your blog through Megan's. I've been reading for a while, but this is my first time to comment. I am really enjoying following you through your pregnancy. Your excitement and happiness is palpable!
I had sciatica through my pregnancy with my son, exacerbated by caring for my 2 year old daughter. I found that swimming was very helpful in alleviating the pain, and was especially nice as I got close to the end of my pregnancy.
Best wishes!
You look so adorable! Sonograms are the best! We got to see the baby rubbing his face, which was adorable.
Glad to hear your baby boy is doing well! I had my 6 month dr appt today and had the lovely glucose test, actually not too bad! I love the curtain design you chose for the nursery super cute!
Seeing we are having a girl, I am thinking polka dot curtains:) One suggestion for over the crib is a wall decal with his name or initials. If you look at threehipchicks.com they have some pretty cute items for a good price!
Take care and love seeing your bumpdates and pics!
so cute! :) you and baby.
So amazing to see those sweet sonogram pictures! You look great mama!
You are having very normal mommy worries! I'm expecting #5 and I still get butterflies just thinking about my little babe growing inside : ) Congrats! Popping over from Daisy Girl and Olive Tree blog
So glad that everything went well! :) I totally know what you mean about the doctor reassuring you. I cannot wait until our ultrasound next week so I can see our little baby and know that everything is good! :)
How exciting !! That sonagram is amazing, wow. It is so realistic, how amazing to see him before he is born, wow !!
Stephie
Oh I just love him! Emma sent his package out finally :) And what's the link for the curtains? It kept taking me to the fabric that you bought (which I love!) instead of a tutorial! I'm on the hunt for cheap-cheap ways to get the look I want!!!
what no calf shots in 3D? haha, love modern technology and the peace of mind that comes with it. I really enjoyed our breastfeeding class and felt so much more at ease after attending and even dragged husband a long for the ride (he was the only guy, but learned a lot about why it could be frustrating to breastfeed which was nice).
How special! look at his little face!!! I can't wait to see him. I'll be a total mess as a pregnant woman and a mom! I am always a blubbering mess!
Awww it must be so amazing to see him like that! I would be staring at his sweet little face all day too!
You definitely make the journey seem amazing!
shut the front door, ruthie! you are too freaking adorable for words!!!
I had a pennant bunting made with my babies name on it to go above her crib. I wanted something above the crib that I didn't have to worry about possibly falling on her and hurting her. This was a great option since it's nice and light. I have a picture of it on instagram if you are on there, my name is lexiva and I would love for you to check it out! Congrats and I love reading your blog and baby updates! I'm due with my first in less than a week! Can't wait!!
Love the 3D sonogram. They weren't readily available when I was pregnant with my son 10 years ago. I would have loved that!
Ernie is just getting you ready for Baby! I love the term "toot" you used. Very apropos!
awww adorable!!!! you look great! congrats!
p.s. i wish i would have craved watermelon with my youngest.lol.instead i craved dr. pepper hence the 60 lb+ weight gain.lol
I had sciatia pretty bad around 22 weeks...like to the point I could barely walk it hurt so bad. I found that yoga stretches (mamaste yoga on itunes) really helped! That and swimming and another stretch that I wrote a blog post about with an embarrassing video...

Hope it gets better soon! Love the pics of your cute little guy! I find myself dazing off staring at the pic I have set to my phone screen of our little guy :)
My son has a cool cowboy nursery. We got his name made out of rope art from a company near you in Austin :) it hangs over his crib, is huge, and amazing!!! We also fit sheriff woody from toy story in his room decor too. We got a build a bear made to look like woody and I designed a custom banner from cardboard sheek (check them out amazing company) that has sheriff woody patterns and says little buckaroo.
I always like doing a name above the crib.. Something like that. Just make sure you don't do anything heavy at all and that everything is nailed down crazy good since heavy things would be a serious hazard for baby.
Eeeep! How exciting to see your son already! I bet you and Jon are both overwhelmed with love, and emotions towards him. Super exciting time for you the two of you!
