Finish This v2

Linking up with these ladies (Nicole {Three 31Lisa {The Coastal Chicster}and Becky {The Java Mama} Jen {The Arizona Russums}) for a new weekly series called Finish This.

1. If I could make anything grow on trees, it would be...time. Money doesn't constitute happiness and I can't say I need more decadent chocolate growing in my front yard but time is so precious and fleeting. Sometimes the days are long but the years are short, especially with a baby. More time for family, more time for friends, more time to be outside, volunteer, see movies, nap.

2. I can't stop smiling...when I see my little boy happy. Laughs, giggles, how can you not smile...

3. I get back to nature by...turning off my phone and walking outside. Sure we live in suburbia where not a minute goes by before I see 10 minivans and slews of kiddos riding bikes down the street but we live in a neighborhood with hills and pretty views of the hill country reminding me of the peace and beauty of nature. When Ford was a newborn he had a dreaded witching hour between 5-7p and going outside would instantly calm him down. My boy is going to be an outdoorsman and I can't wait.

"Adopt the pace of nature, her secret is patience." -Emerson

4. I dread washing...my house? Does that count? I really don't mind doing the laundry or even washing poop out of cloth diapers but when it comes to deep cleaning the house....yeah don't look too closely at my baseboards. I actually enjoy vacuuming and sparkling my kitchen but dusting, baseboards, blinds. Ugh. Speaking of washing, my car needs a good scrub.

Can you finish these sentences?

I dread washing the INSIDE of my car, it is truly amazing how many cheerios, blueberries and teddy grahams can fit in between seats and also how sticky leftover juice spills can be haha. And if I could make time grow on trees I would be one happy girl too!

1. If I could make anything grow on trees it would be...sunshine. Living in Seattle, there is NEVER enough sunshine. I wish I could go out front and pick some off the tree!
2. I can't stop smiling...when I think about 2014. Marrying the man of my dreams, baby due in July, and hopefully signing on a house! Oh, and smiling when I think about our baby being here for Seattle summer!
3. I get back to nature by...walking out my door here in Seattle. We are surrounded by mountains, fresh water, salt water, and a massive volcano, Mt. Rainier! All are within viewing distance from where we live!
4. I dread washing dog beds. It takes so much time to unzip/zip two large beds and the amount of fur that comes out requires vacuuming and then cleaning the washer/dryer too! It's an ordeal!

There is just something about hanging out outside that instantly makes me happy to0 :) Glad Ford is outdoorsy.

Totally with you on #4!!! I hate cleaning baseboards, washing walls, the fronts of cabinets and dusting blinds. I love laundry (especially CD laundry!) and vacuuming and cleaning countertops and washing dishes, but the other stuff fills me with dread!!

Ooooh yes. The baseboards, blinds, and my car. The worst!!

Mopping, dusting, and blinds are the reason I now have a housekeeper come once a month. I don't have time for deep cleaning! :)

After reading other "Finish This" posts, I've concluded none of us like to clean our houses!!!!!! At least we're honest and authentic and completely NORMAL, right?!?! Now that Baby Kamden is here, I think it's time to reconsider the 'housekeeper' idea, at least on a monthly basis. Jen's got it going on! Thanks for linking up with us, see you next week for Round Three. =)
