More than a movement

Today you can find me guest posting for Erin at Captivated by Grace over here :-)

I loved all the positive feedback, messages and prayers in last weeks post about being a Proverbs 31 woman. It has been weighing heavy (in a good way) on my heart for the past week and I have been thinking about all of you. I had a friend comment saying that she was not religious but is so glad she checked out the video. No matter what God (if any) you worship, striving to be a Proverbs 31 woman is a wonderful and admirable goal.

Who doesn't want to...

*be worth more than rubies
*speak with wisdom
*work vigorously to provide for your household and family
*open your arms to the poor
*be clothed in strength and live without fear

I started following the creator on twitter of the video I posted @Live31movement and after a series of tweets yesterday, I had to share.

I was telling Jon last week, after I posted about the movement that I was afraid people wouldn't take it seriously. I saw SO many people re-post the video on FB, twitter and blogs but are they really taking the steps to be closer to God? To live as a Proverbs 31 woman. For some selfish reason I felt uneasy about this. I told my husband that people who were posting the video and saying how amazing it was were not people I look at and think, wow they are a commendable Christian. My thoughts were far from that. And then it hit me. The devil was trying to take over. Who am I to judge someone on their relationship with the Lord based on what I see on Facebook or hear through the grapevine? I am not worthy of such an act. And I immediately knew the solution to this problem. Prayer.

I prayed (and continue to pray today) that those women are truly understanding the meaning of what a Proverbs 31 woman is. I pray that no one posts the video to make themselves look good or to put up a front. A relationship with the Lord is more than posting a video, or saying "yes I am a Christian". Regardless of what you tell people, only you know the depth of trust you put in the Lord. And you are the only one who can control that.

I am in no way saying that I am the Proverbs 31 woman because I am FAR FROM IT. I struggle with trusting God and His plans for me and there are times everyday when I know I am not acting like Jesus intended. In fact right now I am not trusting the Lord on a big decision we are making right now and it sucks. I am trying so hard. My heart is broken. But I know that by accepting God into my life, He will heal it. I have faith.

So women AND men, let's Live31. Live it in public and live it in private.

P.S. here is the video I posted last week about the movement...

It's definitely catching on. My mom posted the video on FB this week and I was like, "hey! I just saw that video on a blog!" So cool that it's getting exposure!

Ruthie, thanks again for such an amazing post. I know that when I check out your blog I will feel encouraged. Even your vulnerability in sharing these posts is encouraging. You're right, we can't judge the depth or sincerity of other's. We just need to pray for them but work on our individual relationship with the Lord. How we walk w/ God is a huge testimony to all the world! Thank you for sharing!

Another amazing post, Ruthie! Acknowledgement is the first step :) Just a reminder for when you are praying for those that have re-tweeted, blogged, shared, etc. It may not be in the forefront of their minds right now, but when they are ready, they WILL make life changes to be a Proverbs 31 woman.

My blog somehow got deleted:( I'm pretty sure my google account was hacked because it is not letting me even get on my blogger. If you could please go to my new one and follow me there. It'll be under construction for a while because I'm almost too upset to be blogging now.

Thank you so much for being a follower!
