- For those of you who don't know, I am barely 5 feet tall. This sucks in many circumstances because I feel like my hips are level with every sharp counter corner/door knob. I hit my hip pretty hard this weekend and look what I found on Tuesday. It is literally green. I bruise so easily
- I tweeted on Tuesday about Jon going to the Austin ping pong club. Nerdy hubby!! He has never played on a basketball, football or baseball team but definitely played ping pong at Baylor. He is the real deal! Let's just say his paddle cost more than any purse I own. And he looks like he just ran a marathon when he gets back from the club.
- Speaking of Twitter, I kind of don't like the new one. It doesn't notify me of new things and DMs are impossible to find. Question...anyone know how to get the URL of a single tweet? You used to be able to click on the time stamp and it would show the tweet on its own web page. Anyone?
- Last weekend I was talking with some girls about guns and they were all saying they never want to own one. Jon is not a hunter but he owns 3 guns (.40 caliber and .357 magnum and a giant rifle). He also inherited his grandpa's guns when his dad passed away but we can't exactly carry those on a plane from Cleveland. Anyway, he only uses them at the shooting range and they are never loaded. I told Jon about the convo and he styled me to look like a redneck and took this picture.
- We watched the movie Friends with Benefits early this week and I thought it was cute. I really like Mila Kunis. The music during the credits was "Pumped Up Kicks" which I am sure we are all sick of. It was already past 11 on a work night but we decided to do kareoke with our iphones. I pulled up the lyrics on mine and Jon pulled up the instrumental. Pumped Up Kicks was so fun to sing!! I tried to do some She and Him Christmas songs and Katy Perry "Firework"...I sucked! Yep we are random
- Speaking of games, we have been trying to do other fun things at night rather than watch TV. The TV we do watch seems to be a lot of football lately (happy hubby=happy wife sometimes!) so I started making up football games for us to play. I pulled up notes on my phone and quizzed Jon on all the NFL football team names...super easy for my NFL crazed husband. Over the next couple of days we played NFL quarterbacks, NFL head coaches and the most fun...top 100 NFL players. Jon did not miss ONE! I even did bonus questions asking where they went to college, awards they've won, etc. I don't know why I had so much fun with this but I can't think of any more to do? He doesn't know NBA as well as he does NFL.
- Ernie is so cute and cuddly when it's cold. He sleeps like a little human, spooned against me at night.
- Tuesday night Jon and I dropped off some gifts for elders in our neighborhood that we 'adopted'. The first was very sad and eye opening. The man was 56 and we think was mentally challenged/learning challenged. He invited us into his 1 room apartment that was literally a cloud of smoke that I knew was not cigarette smoke. He was SO grateful for a warm sweatshirt and a Wal Mart gift card. He was smiling ear to ear. We were so humbled leaving his house knowing that he is so content receiving so little. We both got the coughs and really bad headaches after leaving, we had to immediately wash our clothes and clean out the car because the pot smoke was so bad. We are praying for this man to be prosperous in 2012. The second was a woman who was sweet and talkative. She showed us pictures of her family and told us about her health issues. She said she was going to use the gift card to buy healthy food so she can get healthy. We are so thankful for what the Lord has given us, it really put things into perspective. We are delivering gifts to fire victims this afternoon.
- Last night was my company Christmas party and it was SO fun! I took some great pics and need to upload those soon.
- Jon is currently in the kitchen making us breakfast tacos...he makes the most amazing ones you will ever eat. I can never re-create them. Maybe he can do a vlog on how he does it?
- Tonight starts the Christmas festivities...dinner at my parents house! My mom is making homemade stromboli...yummy.
- If you missed Monday's post, I am starting a Pinspired series so if you have any Pinterest projects you've been working on, I'd love to showcase you on my blog!
What random stuff do you have going on today? Last minute Christmas prep? Baking? Shopping?

Stromboli sounds amazing right now. Like super delicious! And it's only 10AM here... I bruise like a peach and walk into things way too often. I'm 5'4" but have terrible depth perception when I'm wearing my glasses...
OH MY GOSH! That pic is so cute. LOL Love it. :)
I'm pretty sure when you hover over a tweet, there is an option to click Open. Then you can see a link at the bottom that says details, and from there you should be able to link directly to a Tweet. Gah, I'm so social.
Hehe...........I walk right into things and bruise my hips all the time too! I am 5'4, so I don't know what my problem is! :) My hubby says its because I scurry around too much with a million things on my mind. :)
Your hubby is straight up Forest Gump! When you said he went to the ping pong club...I thought of that movie!
What a sweet thing you did for that man and woman. I cannot give over how giving you and Jon are..truly an example to us all!
Aw sweet little Ernie :)
Hope you enjoy the festivities tonight!!
You sound like SO MUCH FUN!! iPhone karaoke?? NFL trivia?! I need to be more like you.. We are so so boring ! That picture of you... Priceless!!
Xoxo
Katie
Love your little Ernie! I am just starting my Christmas shopping today... I have lots to do!
I love, love, love Ernie. So cuteee:)
I hope all three of y'all have a very Merry Christmas!<3
Love the pic of you and the guns. We have a few guns too and people just don't get it and freak out because we have a little kid. Well none of them are anywhere that she can get them and they're not loaded.
Ernie! Love! Your paragraph about the elderly people made me get all choked up...so sweet of you! What a blessing!
We both are 5 feet tall and get bruised easily. I think it it so great what you and Jon did for the elderly this Christmas. Hope you 3 have a Merry Christmas!
I think it is so wonderful that you are helping people out at this time of year. We always sponsor at least one child and try to sponsor an older one in foster care because I feel like sometimes they get over looked. Their wants are so simple.... just a sweatshirt and monopoly. It breaks my heart.
that is so nice of you two to adopt older adults for christmas, bummer though about the smoking pot. ernie looks darling, my dogs are definitely curling up a bit more under the covers this time of year! have a very merry christmas ruthie!!
You guys are so kind, showering your neighbors with gifts (even if that means you get a little hot boxed!)
Love the gun picture! My husband has like five guns too! Not really a hunter, but loves his guns :-)
This is such a great time of your to really show love and help others out. You should definitely do the breakfast tacos tutorial!!
as for me nothing too random, gonna have a dinner with my girlfriends tonight, so that should be fun!
new follower :)
I bruise so easily too, and it's such an awesome feeling to give to those less fortunate :)
Merry Christmas too you & safe travels!
Random posts are the BEST! I am so glad that I had time to sit down and read this one! Totally randoms going on here? You know...packing for Seattle baby! I just got my car shipment booked, and am ready to hit the road, jack! :-)
- Our cat sleeps between us under the covers when it's cold.
- I love the gifts for your neighbors. We tried doing donations this year instead of exchanging gifts with family.
- Tomorrow night is our family and friend annual Festivus party (you know like the Seinfeld episode?) :)
Merry Christmas!
Just click on the tweet, then click "details". It should bring you to the exact tweet and you can copy the URL!
My man is from Cleveland too (not a hunter either) and also owns 2 guns! They kinda freak me out, but his dad is a Cleveland cop, so he grew up with them around...
You have such a sweet pup, I would love to know more about the breed and what it's like to own a Frenchie if you ever get the chance to fill me in! :)
Isnt it eye opening to see what other people go through, and how Christmas is sometimes the hardest time of year for people, instead of the best. :( Tomorrow we're going to visit a couple who live nearby, the wife had a stroke several years ago and the husband takes care of her. They get very lonely especially with their children living out of state. Good on you spreading your blessings around :)
Ping Pong club... bwahahhaa! I still can't get over it!!!!!!
