Life Updates

Today is a special day...a day that will occur once in a lifetime. Our family is growing and we will meet our sweet baby niece this afternoon. It's been a whirlwind of a week and the worry is coming to an end. Thank you for all your prayers...they are working!! Praise God and His holy name.

My mom surprised us girls on Saturday night and showed us the Christening/Baptisimal gown she had made from her wedding dress. We had talked about this forever and she went through with it. It is beautiful and I can't wait to see Embry wear it, and my children one day. My cousins and I all wore the same gown, made from a great grandmother's fabric.

On the way to Dallas yesterday, we stopped at Garden Ridge for Jon to start planning decor for our Halloween party. Friday night he told me he was excited to start "mentally preparing" for it. That guy...(and yes we bought that creepy goblin and furry spider)

Ernie was such a cutie in the car...he is a great passenger! I even got in the backseat to cuddle with him for the last half of the 3 hour drive.

I am so thankful for blog friends turned real life friends. Mallorie insisted on driving across town to bring me and my family treats and a gift for Embry. What a blessing she is!

To add to the crazy week we've had, Jon traveled north for work and ran into James Harden in the OKC airport. Thunder up!!

I'm realizing these photos are all out of order so sorry about that haha. I told my sister I was nesting for her since she's been posted up in the hospital. Our house is pristine, every piece of clothing washed, and 50 muffins and 5 loaves of bread baked. Is baking therapeutic for anyone else?

Ernie is modeling Embry's new hat! For those of you who asked, I bought it from a street vendor in San Francisco in Union Square. I am sure Embry will look way cuter!

And because you can never have too much Ernie....

Thanks for thinking of us friends!

Baking is 100% therapeutic for me..you can always tell when I'm stressed because our kitchen becomes a bakery/restaurant. Crazy! So glad the prayers are working :)

Best wishes to your sister today! How exciting to have a new little one joining the family. Can't wait to see pictures. I also love the idea of using a wedding gown for a different purpose...making a mental note of that!;)

Baking is therapeutic! for me, too! Which is why Z gained 50 pounds the first 6 months of our marriage! (Don't worry he looses it that fast, too!) Not always a good hobby! haha. Praying for Embry and Corrie!! I know everything will go great. So excited for the new addition to your family!

Glad your sister will be able to hold her little girl soon! What wonderful news. I am amazed by the idea of making the baptismal gown from your mom's wedding dress! That is the most beautiful thing I've heard!

Can't wait to see the pics of your niece :)

Girl, you are on baking overload! Looks like many will be blessed by your "therapy" ;)

I too bake to relieve stress. There is something about finishing a task, smelling the sweet smells, and savoring the flavors when its finished.
Praying for Corri and that sweet baby girl.

Ernie is ADORABLE in the hat. I love the picture of him sleeping face down too. Our English Bulldog sleeps the same way and I love it - too sweet. Wish I still lived in Austin and I would come help you eat all those muffins - just as part of your therapy you know ;-)
