New Years Randoms

Like I said in my Christmas highlight post, our holidays were low key and that included our New Years. We've spent the past 3 New Years Eves with our good friends Justin and Leah so this year was no different. We had a great dinner at Buenos Aires Cafe, "Austin Grown Argentine Cuisine", and then spent the evening in an intense game of Taboo. I've said before, we are game people!

Here are our outfits of the night
(my shirt and skinnies from Old Navy, boots are Aldo, Jon's shirt is Old Navy too)

The weekend before New Years we spent at my parents lakehouse with the family. Eating, games, naps on the couch, again...we know how to relax!

Embry looking oh so cute

Funny thing, this is our only picture together over the holidays and it happens to be of us in pjs, no makeup, posted up watching movies in our warm bed.

Ernie being Mr. Anti Social playing with all his new Christmas toys...

75% of the time, Ernie is mama's boy but he sure does love playing with his daddy! Check out that tongue!

In other news...

  • I am excited that many of you caught our House Hunters episode on New Year's Eve. To give you some background info, we filmed in April, it aired in July and just now rerunned. It feels like forever ago!
  • Lot's of viewers have been leaving comments but I can't respond unless there is an email address attached...so be sure to check your profile or just type in your email
  • Our house seems so bare without Christmas decorations but no worries...I am having a craft day with a girlfriend this weekend for Valentine's Day decor :-)
  • I am caught up to season 4 of Parenthood and since season 4 is currently on, I can't catch the first couple episodes on Netflix...so I wait (impatiently). Any suggestions of a show I can watch on my own while Jon travels? We have cable and everything but I like starting shows from the beginning on Netflix.
  • Next week I am seeing John and Sherry from YoungHouseLove at their book signing. To say I am excited is an understatement! Theirs was the first blog I ever read and still my very favorite.

We had a low key NYE too... so perfect! :) I still need to see your episode... dang it! I started watching Drop Dead Diva on Netflix, and I really like it! Since I caught up on that, I've been watching Samantha Who. They're both silly shows that are pretty addicting. :) So excited for you to meet YHL! They're so nice!

Gosh, your dog is just too dang cute!!! :)

I had a low-key NYE as well...just stayed in with my pup and had a drink. It was fantastic.

These are the shows I watch that are on Netflix: Grey's Anatomy, Psych, Bones, Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead.

Have a fantastic day!

You can watch Season 4 episodes on Hulu if you google search it through TV Links. Super easy and you don't have to pay for Hulu plus ;-) My sister is a fan and we caught up to the current episode and I've cried in EVERY episode it is intense! lol Glad y'all had a great New Years. Miss u!

M has the same shirt as Jon! And you look so cute. Your hair has gotten so long, like me. I think I'm going to get it chopped off, or trimmed, this weekend. Oh and I figured out a trick to watching Season 4 of Parenthood, the beginning episodes. Do the free 7 day trial of Hulu Plus, then cancel it once you catch up on the episodes. Yes, I was that desperate to watch lol.

Have you watched Friday Night Lights? I loved that series! My kids and husband did, too.

I caught your HH episode again. It was fun to watch it again now that I read your blog regularly (I first started reading after I saw the episode last July)!

My favorite I just finished watching on Netflix is White Collar. You instantly fall in love with the characters, and each episode has such a great story line. Now, I impatiently wait for part 2 of Season 4 to come back on USA on the 22nd! Happy New Year!!

Have you checked out Pretty Little Liars or Brothers and Sisters? I discovered those on Netflix. Loving your blog, especially many of your posts I have stumbled upon. Read the ones on forgiveness last night and they really spoke to me.

I second Sons of Anarchy...it's my favorite, we watched seasons 1-4 on Netflix, and season 5 on Amazon direct...so now I'm caught up and waiting. I also always love the documentaries on Netflix...tons of really interesting ones!

Ruthie, I saw you on House Hunters and now follow your blog. I love your blog and I love to hear about your relationship with our wonderful God. I pray you have many blessings in 2013. My hubby and I also do the Christmas card idea with my 3 year old son. It helps him to see the people who we are praying for.

Sounds like you had a great New Years! Ours is always relaxing too.

As far as shows to watch, my husband and I have watched all available seasons of Smallville, Big Bang Theory, and Downton Abbey. We also highly recommend Castle! Hope you find something you like :)
