Christmas 2013

Ford won't remember his first Christmas but I sure will. A baby at Christmas is such a sweet reminder of the birth of Jesus Christ. Ford won't remember that he got a tool bench and Elf on the Shelf or that we read the Christmas story to him out of the book of Luke... but soon he will! Poor guy was under the weather but a happy little elf (very thankful for that). He slept through the meat of present opening but his cousin Embry was happy to help open his gifts. He sure did clean up for only having 4 months to get on the nice list!

Christmas Eve we did our annual lunch with family and friends (been doing it for 15 years!) at Chuy's and Ford was definitely loved on. We relaxed at Mimi and Papa's before church which our little man decided to sleep through, fine by me! We sang lots of traditional Christian Christmas songs and the teaching was directly out of the Jesus Storybook Bible. It was perfect, precious, and simple.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. -Isaiah 9:6

Last year my parents gifted us a trip to Mexico for Christmas and we had so much fun that this year they gifted us a condo stay for a week in South Padre, so fun! We are going over 4th of July...it boggles my mind Ford will be almost 1! I am a bad mommy and didn't take many pictures... here are some snapshots I took from my sisters :)

We are such a game family and played a new (to me) game, Liar's Dice. I was the first one out... living on the edge!!

These cousins sure do love each other!

Santa brought a new trick on Christmas Eve... Ford's orangutan sit! He balances on his hands but now can sit for a few seconds unattended before that big ol head topples him over. What a big boy!

Confession... Jon and I didn't get anything for Ford this Christmas. I knew he would be spoiled by his grandparents and aunts (which he was) so all I gave him was unlimited milk! And don't worry, these weren't all for him!

Aunt Tomi gifted the babes adorable "I'm the cutest Niece/Nephew" onesies.

The day after Christmas was when Jon and I were struck with sickness and today is the first day we are leaving the roost! Nothing like a trip to Costco to cure your cabin fever.
It was such a special and sweet holiday for our little family. I do NOT want to wish the next year away but I get giddy thinking about how much fun Ford will have next Christmas.

Happy 2014 friends! Thanks for reading, we love you.

Merry Christmas and happy new year to your family! Looks like Ford's first Christmas was very special. I just had to share that we never got our babes any presents when they were that age, just because of the same thought you had and that they wouldn't remember. Nice to take advantage of it for a bit since someday they will remember. ;)

Baby's first Christmas is so fun!! Looks like you guys had an amazing one! I am so in love with the Jesus storybook BIble, we read the Christmas from there while Cole was awake and then out of Luke once he was in bed, loved reading both! A girl after my own heart! We totally didn't give Mason anything for Christmas. I mean, he was 7.5 weeks for crying outloud! :-) I did get a few more Christmas books to add to our collection and took a picture with him by them so he would feel better about it. Haha! :-)
