Getting ready

I am realizing I probably should have done my wedding recaps in chronological order so I apologize for being all over the place. The night before the wedding, my bridesmaids and I slept over at my parents house. We stayed up until about midnight just being girls and I finally showered and took an Advil PM (to make sure I fell asleep!). I was so excited and woke up at 7am chipper and ready to get married. The rest of the morning was so perfect!

My dad went to our favorite little Mexican food hole in the wall to get breakfast tacos but I had zero appetite (excitement, anxiousness, a tad nervous). The hair stylist arrived at 9am to start up-dos for my 6 bridesmaids, mom and mother in law, flower girl and then me (if you are in Austin and need an updo, my guy is fab! I have been going to him for years, I pretty much trust him with my life!). I decided to go 2nd to last so I spent the morning chatting with my girls, watching wedding related movies and pretty much pacing around the house! I knew I needed something in my belly so I made sure to fill up on fruit and later, sandwiches that my mom bought from Costco. Here are some getting ready shots...

One of my sister's best friends Emily did my makeup for the wedding. I told Emily I wanted dramatic, sexy eyes and I was so impressed with her work! Check out Emily's makeup blog, she is SO talented!

All done!

Out of town family stopped by throughout the day and I loved getting a chance to hang with my cousins knowing that that night I would be super busy and overwhelmed. At one point, I wouldn't be surprised if there were 30 people at my parents house!

After everyone was ready to go, we did a champagne toast and hit the road. I loved having all of my girls with me on the wedding day and I highly recommend it to brides who are planning the day of their wedding. Despite the loss of appetite and pacing, I was so relaxed and ready to go! Jon and I chose to write each other letters to exchange during our "first look" so I took some time to myself and wrote my letter (I made sure to do this before I had any makeup on since I knew I would probably be tearing up!).
