Christmas List

On Thanksgiving night we all went around and said what was on our Christmas list. Now that I am a boring, married, grown up, a flash light is at the top of my list. This is something Jon and I have been saying we need for a long time. We don't own one! We also need a giant extension cord. How lame is that.

Jon and I are not doing Christmas presents for each other this year. Well, I take that back. We are doing something small. I don't want to write what I got him because he reads my blog but it cost me $10. We decided to take our tithe for the month of December plus what we would spend on Christmas for each other and adopt a family and some children. We couldn't be more thrilled to be sharing our blessings during the holidays and can't wait to do some Toys R Us shopping!

My mom and family have been asking me for ideas and I have a few things on my list. I honestly do not need anything this season but it is fun to look right??

For our front porch when we move...

(with our last name and wedding date of course)

Um, I am obsessed with mustaches (you probably already knew)
 via Toms

A tripod for our DSLR...anyone have recommendations?

So what are you asking for this holiday season? And what does your family do to give back?

My mom asked me what I wanted too...I said Nylon Spatulas from Crate & Barrel. So exciting!

So cool that you guys are adopting a family! My dad's side of the family does that every year, such a fun way to give back and really get in the holiday spirit!

Our family vacay was our Xmas gifts. And I ordered M's gift, but have NO CLUE what he's getting me this year... He won't tell me budget even, so it's driving me up the wall.

We have that same tripod. No complaints but I don't really use it that much!

Good for you guys for doing charity instead of gifts. We were asked to make cookies for prisoners. I was like, "hmm. Prisoners? What?" But then I thought about Shawshank and Prison Break and how everyone needs a little love now and then.

Lol at he flashlight and extension cord. And my husband and I are also doing away with gift-giving to one another this year, and sponsoring a child in need instead.

It gets so hard to ask for stuff as you get older. All the little things I want, I buy, and all I don't have but want is expensive. I have no idea what I want for Christmas... :)

You guys are Saints! How nice of you to do that and adopt a family. I can't really think of anything I need either, but there are a few frivolous things I want :)

what a great thing you and john are doing! my husband and i went to hobby lobby on saturday and bought 7 toys to help out with our church's toy drive, feeling so blessed this year, and hoping to help make a child's christmas a little bit brighter this year

I think its great that you are adopting a family instead of exchanging gifts. I might consider that for next year. I like those Toms though.

I have that plaque hanging on our porch that has our name and wedding date on it. I <3 it. We have the ones with the cardinals in the middle.

I also have the dynex tripod you linked too for my camera. I love it. Its super easy to use and can be small and compact but also tall as you need it.

Hope this helps!

Ha, you are so practical! This year for my birthday/christmas (it's the same day) my husband is treating me to a trip to new zealand. And i'm treating him to... well i'm not sure yet but i am sure it won't be as good as an overseas holiday :)

I love the idea of giving your tithe plus eachothers gift money to a family that needs it more. I'm making a note for next year :) it was actually a struggle to make a wishlist this year, for thefirst time EVER. must be something about being a newlywed? who knows. btw I just posted about giving back in this season .. great minds think alike :)

so sweet that you're adopting a fam.
This year I asked Ben what he wanted and like a boring old adult he said, "a therapeutic pillow" wish granted. I want a Timex watch that has a leopard strap that I saw on a blog. I'm drooling over it, so I sent him a link, hahah.
love,
