Unfortunately the Harts were under the weather the last few days of 2012. Jon came down with a fever/throat thing and so I automatically caught it too (only without the fever and adding a wicked cough). We were happy to ring in the New Year with our bff's, Justin and Leah. The night was perfect and low key. Leah served us a delicious dinner and we spent the last few hours of 2012 playing all sorts of games- Minute to Win It (hysterical! See Leah's previous blog post about it here), Taboo, Scattergories, and Ghetto-opoly. Midnight came and went and we ended up staying up until 3am, we totally got a second wind! Oh and I can't forget to mention we devoured a few wanna-be Butterfingers and a whole sugar free chocolate pudding pie.
(champagne and Fresca was my drink of choice)
Check out the chops
Ernie was invited to the sleepover shindig and had a blast...he was up as late as we were.
New Years Day started late and it was one of the most relaxing days I've had in a while. After breakfast, we cuddled up on the sofa to watch Cedar Rapids and although it was quite hysterical, I enjoyed a little snoozer-oo. The 4 of us had been talking about doing an Iron Chef- Hot Dog edition for over a year now and finally got around to doing it! We had a late lunch of: mac N cheese cups with hot dogs, hot dog corn chowder and hot dog enchiladas. I was mildly grossed out at the end but the guys were all over it!
We played more games, watched 30 Minutes Or Less and finally called it a night at 8pm. Jon and I drove home and plopped ourselves on the couch and watched football for the next 4 hours.
Yesterday we slept in, almost until noon and ran a few errands. It was such a gorgeous day (60 and sunny) so we took Ernie to the lake park that wraps around downtown Austin. As we were walking in I asked Jon "do you think we will see any other Frenchies today?" and we ended up seeing 4! One was the cutest 4 month old chunk, I was in heaven! Ernie had a blast and was completely tanked for the rest of the night.
I finally got around to making something with the silouettes I made of Ernie a while back. I bought an old shadowbox for $1 at Salvation Army and painted it, added some rosettes and scrapbook paper and boom...
While I was crafting, Jon was creating this....
No more beard or stache!
As much as I loved both (and I did! I thought they were hysterical), I was ready for my clean shaven hubby. He's getting a haircut today and I can't wait to see him after work! I love that baby face!
So far, 2012 has been nothing but relaxing and enjoyable for us! I hope you can say the same. Happy New Year!

I love that Ghettopoly didn't get any explanation, like it's normal to have a crack rock game piece and pay money to the banker for contracting STDs. I'm also a little embarrassed about battle dog, and even more embarrassed that I would make the corn chowder again? Love you!
Sounds like a perfect NYE! Love the progress of Jon shaving his stash. And your silhouette frame turned out great!
It sounds like you had an awesome New Year's!! Love all of the pictures. The pudding pie sounds amazing! Love the chopp-babyface pictures, too cute!
Adorable blog! Your life seems so interesting.

Yikes.. I have to admit hot dog enchiladas are a first to me... are they any good?! That picture frame is too adorable!
haha my husband also shaved off his very thick beard right after Christmas our 10 month old wouldn't even go to him because he didn't recognize his face!
and we watched 30 Minutes or Less this past weekend too and laughed until we cried.
Looks like a fun time! Ha ha I love the last photos of the beards, and staches! That definitely needs to get framed!
Happy New Year!
Just when you thought...
You guys actually HAVE Ghetto-opoly?? I saw it online one day and joked to my boyfriend that he needs it... he works in the ghetto hahahahaha.
Sorry you guys were sick, but it looks like you ended up having a great time!
That food looks amazing!! & would you please have your hubby talk to mine about getting rid of the hair??!!
Happy New Year!! Your Ernie is sooo cute!
That New Years Eve sounds perfect! Oh em gee....a ghetto version....I have to see that! Love your Ernie shadowbox....you are always so crafty! Teach me your ways friend! :) yay for a clean shaven hubs!
Haha! This is such a funny post!! I love the collage that your husband created of himself. My fiance did the no shave November and when he shaved it off he first shaved it so he looked like a convict and took a picture of himself in a white tshirt. Boys are too much. I love board games. One of my favorites is Monopoly, but I have the hardest time convincing people to play it with me!
OMG! Your husband looks DAYYYYYS different with and without facial hair!!! So funny how something like that can make someone look like a completely different person!!! haha
happy new year to you guys!!!
I'm not going to lie,
I am somewhat intrigued by those mac and cheese cups!!
hahaha
cute pictures!! :)
lovelovelove,
