Good morning friends. Today I am feeling encouraged and inspired and I wanted to pass that along to you.
- I am guest posting over at In the Pink and Green today talking marriage with the super sweet, Jane. I love being able to talk with friends about a Christ centered marriage since that is what we attribute our flourishing marriage to.
- This past weekend I received a message from a high school classmate who expressed her gratitude for me making her feel welcome and comfortable after moving to Texas her junior year. My heart was so full reading that message. No I am not tooting my own horn but I did want to share this experience because it was incredibly humbling. I do pride myself in being a friend, I feel like I must uphold Ruth in the bible for being a true friend and companion. Looking back I would have never know that my friend was having trouble adjusting and that people had been rude and unwelcoming. I never knew a smile and girl talk could make such an impact. And I am so thankful she shared this with me. I pray that I can still make an impact or change someones outlook on life whether it be through a blog post, a quick conversation over email or a hug. Thank you for the message, you know who you are :-)
- The past couple of weeks I have also reconnected with one of my YoungLife leaders from high school. I am at such a growth stage in my walk with the Lord and I know I can't do it alone. I am so thankful that Marri and I have connected because she is such an encouragement and motivation for me. I wanted to share something she told me on Monday. She said she hears people say "Yes I am a Christian" but that they don’t know the God they love. It's like saying "I love Taylor Swift"... I know about her... but I don’t know her.. That statement sat with me and I have been praying for a deeper relationship with the Lord. I want to know Him and love Him the way He knows and loves me. Marri you are a blessing to me!
- One more thing...I started reading the book called Dream Big by my very own bloggy friend, Heather Boersma. It is a 30 day devotional that helps us discover God's dream for the world and for each of us individually. It is so beautifully written, I can't wait to see what the Lord will teach me through this book.
How are you feeling encouraged this week? What gives you inspiration?

Love this post, girl. Those are some very encouraging things. I am in a stage in my faith where I am desiring God and his word more and more. It's nice to hear from other people who are striving to do the same! Blessings to you!
Yes!!! This is a beautiful post! I am in the same boat. I have a good relationship with God but am always striving to build that relationship to the best it can be. It gets tough being a true young Christian these days. But I do all I can do to be the best I can be :) You are a true inspiration girly! Thank you!
Glad you are so encouraged Ruthie! You are indeed an encouragement to others so I am glad you are on the receiving also :) May blessings continue to rain upon you dear!
Ruthie, you are so sweet, thank you for sharing this post! I have already pinned what Jesus is, so that I will not forget! I too would like to have a closer relationship with God and to know him better. I think that it is really something that happens over our lifetime, we are always growing and so is our desire for Him. I just wish I could be perfect for Him now! :)
Thanks so much for including me in your list of inspiration! You are such a sweet bloggy friend and an inspiration to me too!
Aww loved this Ruthie! Thanks again for guest posting for me today, it's so awesome to be able to encourage one another!! :)
Your encouragement has sparked MY sense of encouraging others for the day. Its important to start each day with the ATTITUDE of GRATITUDE. Something Scott and I try to work on daily.
A Christ-centered relationship is the ONLY way to have a flourishing one. When we ask God and "LET GO AND LET GOD" like you suggested, things fall into place perfectly!
You are such an inspiration and kind-hearted cuz-friend-7th generation cousin/relative! Haha
I love this Ruthie! I feel so encouraged :)
I aboslutely love this post. Definiately feeling encouraged. I am working on growing my Faith because many times I feel I don't know my Father even though I have been walking with him for 10+ years!
Love you sweet friend.
Got to love words of encouragement! I star any comments that have made me smile or brought tears of joy to my eyes. Another blogger came up with a saying that I absolutely love, except I amended it to be "Today I WILL get lost in foolish happiness!" Isn't that great? :) The simple things... Happy hump day!!!
Isn't it amazing to know that you helped a friend in such a meaningful way? I'd like to reiterate what your friend told you. You've made me feel welcome amungst the huge blogging community. You are not a snob, you take the time and read comments, reply with thoughtful insight - or funny quips, and comment on my blog when you have some time. That means so much to me!
I save comments so I can re read them for inspiration as well.
Ruthie, I don't even remember how I found your blog now but I've been reading pretty regularly for the past couple of months. I just want to tell you that I admire your heart for the Lord and so many of your posts touch me so much! Your encouragement through your blog is just AWESOME!!! Keep going girl!!!
i'm so glad i have a friend like you. period.
