A day in the life of ME

I love schedules, I love lists, I love organization. It sounds corny but I love reading how other bloggers spend their days.

So what is it like to be me??

7-7:15am: Rise and shine! I've usually been up for a while but laying in bed listening to the neighbor dog bark and Ernie snore. Some days Jon gets up at 6a to get a jump start on his work day. If he sleeps in, he is a little 'slower' than me in the mornings. I pop out of bed and go outside with Ernie. I've been getting excited to come inside and tell Jon that it is cold!

(Ernie sleeps like a human under the covers at night)

Next 5 minutes: get ready. I can literally do my makeup in 5 minutes and be ready for breakfast. The craziest I do with my hair is a ponytail which takes .005 seconds. Jon is usually making us breakfast while I get ready.
Next 5-10 minutes: Quick breakfast (usually eggs and toast or cereal). Kisses for Jon and Ernie and off to work. Jon works from home.
7:30/8am: Start my work day. It takes me 10 minutes to get to work while I listen to my favorite morning show (The Bobby Bones Show). I love that I can wake up and be at work 30 minutes later!
10:30am: I have my morning snack. Yesterday I had a Greek Yogurt and carrots. Some days it's an apple with peanut butter or pretzels and cheese.
12:30pm: There is a gym 4 minutes from my office that I try to go to 4, if not 5, days a week. I usually grab a piece of fruit and head to the gym for a 45-50minute workout. On Wednesdays I go to an 11:30a Cardio Dance Party class (seriously my favorite thing about Wednesdays!). I don't shower after the gym. I come back to the office, let myself cool down, and change back into my work clothes (usually a cotton dress or jeans and a cute top).
2pm: I try to drink 1-2 cups of water after my workout and before I have lunch, which is usually around 2pm. I usually pack a Flatout wrap with turkey and muenster. I love leftovers, but not for lunch. I love lunch type foods too much! I will also have a salad or some type of fruit as a side.
3pm: Afternoon snack time usually consists of cold green tea (from Costco), no sugar added applesauce, something with peanut butter on it, or a granola/protein bar.
4:30/5pm: Depending on what time I got to work, time to head home! I usually call Jon right when I leave and a lot of times I call my mom on the way home.
5pm: Jon goes to the gym in the afternoon and sometimes I beat him home. Sometimes I run various errands after work (Costco, bank, returns, etc). We have a ritual of having "apps" when we get home. Nothing fancy...just a late afternoon snack. It is usually veggie chips and cottage cheese.

Now our evenings vary from day to day. We are at a super busy season of our life but we are loving it! Here is what we are doing right now:

Mondays: MNF! And no I don't mean NFL...I mean my brother's middle school football games! He is on the "A" team which usually starts around 6:45pm. The field is about 25 minutes from our house so we leave at 6:15pm. Mondays we get home around 9pm.

Tuesdays: small group from 6:45-9pm

Tuesdays/Wednesdays: Jon travels about 1-2 nights a week and they are mostly Tuesdays and Wednesdays. In fact, he is gone tonight and my little sister is coming into town so I am hanging out with her.

With nothing going on on a weeknight, we like to spend the evening playing with Ernie, going on walks, catching up on DVR, watching football, making dinner together, talking and relaxing together, crafting (me), Fantasy Football (Jon), etc. We usually eat dinner between 8-9pm. We go out to dinner about twice a week, once during the week and once on the weekends (and we don't go as late as we would eat at home). We also love to see our friends during the week. Jon hosts guys nights and I love doing girlie things with my friends (yoga, crafts, baking).

Last night we watched....

(sister wives)

We usually end the night with lots of Ernie playtime (or me dressing him up)

We have been trying to have nights with no tv and it has been nice. We chose not to put a TV in our room which has been good for us. Our bedroom is where we have US time and where we go to bed without distractions (although I wish we had a TV in there when Jon travels). We usually go to bed around 11pm, sometimes earlier, sometimes later.

Weekends are a different story!

So...are you a schedule person?? Do you like eating the very same thing for lunch every.single.day like me? Are you a night owl (sorry college kids, you will become a morning person in the real world and 11pm will seem late for bed!)?

I love reading schedules too...I am a huge "list" and "to-do" girl as well :-)

You all eat late! I am a dinner person like 5 or 6 p.m. Sometimes I try to eat later but I'm usually BEAT by 9 or 10 p.m. Even though I'm technically a college student, I am asleep super early...I just get soo tired!

Great post and I think Ernie loves being dressed up!

Ruthie - My goodness you are too cute! Can you say "new follower" - that's me! I love a schedule too. No problem with spontaneity just like to know what's going on. And sandwiches...I could eat a different one every day...love them!

You guys remind me of me and my husband before we had kids...we used to dress up our dog too ! A boxer :)

Have a happy day!

I am so jealous of you right now... I LIVE for lists, and organizational things, and crossing them off- and yet my life is next to impossible to do that with. Since the person and I both work in entertainment, our schedules are insanely all over the place. Especially his!! If I sat down to do this... I wouldn't even know where to begin! I'd probably just use Bentley as a jumping off point because he's really the only constant. Regardless of when we come and go, we somehow manage to get him out, fed, played with, and just loved on and cuddled with in crazy amounts! ... Now that I think about it, maybe I will give this a shot! Hope your night with your sister is lovely! :)

I'm so behind on Sister Wives! It's so strange, but I can't help but watch it!

I like having a routine, but with our schedules being like they are right now, haven't established much of a schedule.

That was fun to read Ruthie!

Love that you're a speedy getter ready person too! And I'm such a routine person, it's not even funny! I need my planning and regular schedule, otherwise I go nutso... I am not spontaneous, unfortunately. It's great that you get a full workout in in the middle of the day. I get too sweaty!

Love this post! Too cute.

I'm definitely a routine person. I wish I could get ready as quickly as you!! I'm up at 5:40 and out the door at 7:10.

I love reading these posts! I'm not a huge night owl, but I do usually go to bed around midnight, even when I have to wake up before 7.
P.S. I nominated you for a blog award, I'd love for you to check it out! http://katelynbrooke88.blogspot.com/2011/10/versatile-blogger-award.html

Love this post! :) I love going to the gym too and I try to go 4, if not 5 times during the week too! I just feel better after going. I think the no tv in the bedroom is a great idea! I am terrible about having mine in my room!

Hey girl! New follower from over at Mrs. T's! Girl, I wish I had your discipline! I thrive on schedules for everything in my life, but I just can't seem to stay on board with healthy eating. I think it's b/c I never eat at the same time everyday. Any tips??

P.S. Have you ever tried hummus? It's healthy and has a lot of protein like PB. Of course, if you're happy with what you've got, maybe you shouldn't change anything!! :o)

I'm not a schedule person, not really. I struggle with routines, but I'm trying! I also don't like eating the same thing everyday, unless it's my nightime snack of stove popped pop corn mmmm.
