Sour Cream Softies

I have so many recipes saved in my queue and since I'm traveling, I thought I would share some beyond the 1 I usually share on Saturdays.

I remember eating sour cream softies at my Gramma Fanning's house all the time growing up. They are delcious sugar cookies but oh-so-soft. I am normally not the biggest fan of just sugar cookies (I need chocolate!) but these are amazing and remind me of my childhood

Ingredients
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Cinnamon sugar

1. Mix together butter and with sugar in a large bowl:
2. Add in eggs and vanilla
3. Add the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda, stirring often.
4. Scoop onto greased baking sheets and dust with cinnamon sugar

5. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes

Hi Ruthie! I just started following your blog and I really enjoy reading it! This recipe sounds awesome! Do you come up with your own recipes or do you adapt them from others?

Recipes from childhood are the best. They're like double the treat. One awesome current experience as you eat it and another as you remember eating it as a kid :)

Isn't it funny how certain foods can bring you back to another place in time. Smelling celery always reminds me of Christmas, when my mum is making stuffing!

I was looking for a recipe like this. My grandmother used make these delicious soft cookies, that were puffed smooth, super delicious and all I know was it had sour cream in the recipe. I looked at your 5-steps and do not see when the sour cream is added in. I must assume that it was in there in step 4 since you mention to keep stirring it and that must keep the batter from separating.

Maybe I just don’t see it, but when do you add in the sour cream?
