His best friend's wedding

This weekend Jon's best friend got married and it was beautiful.

Jon's best friend's name is Jon so it gets kind of confusing. And they are both Jonathans too. So the groom will be referred to as Jon N in this post. My Jon and Jon N actually grew up together in Medina, OH and have known each other almost 20 years. Jon H. escaped Ohio and went to school in Baylor and brought Jon N down here to work at Dell with him upon graduation. These guys have been through so much together. I don't know many friends who've stayed close for 20 years, I really admire their friendship. Jon N was the best man in our wedding and my Jon held the title of best man this past weekend.

This is the only picture I managed to get of the two Jons and it was at the rehearsal dinner on Friday night.

Jon's groomsmen gift was a flask engraved with "Jon, best man & big ass calves" hysterical!

I was so excited to see my hubby in a tux and couldn't wait to snap a few pics of us together at the venue. Well I kept putting it off and completely forgot, bummer. I did somehow get a picture of my dress. Not of me, haha, just the dress
(from Francesas)

The ceremony and reception were at a beautiful outdoor venue just north of Austin in a small town called Georgetown. I love outdoor ceremonies and the weather was perfect.

The groomy and adorable pastor (who I got to sit with at dinner)

I spot my hubby

Swooning over the tux...

The gorgeous bride, her dress was insanely beautiful

Mr. & Mrs N!

The reception was so beautiful...chandaliers, greenery, mason jars...it looked very Pinterest-esque :-)

The bridal party danced their way into the reception to different themed songs, it was so funny. Here is a video clip of my husband...

And Jon N is a hysterical dancer!

The food was probably the most delicious meal I had ever put into my mouth. What's better than Texas BBQ and mac N cheese. Seriously. I sat with some of the Jon's highschool friends and loved catching up with them (oh and of course the pastor and his wife!). Now I am just gonna start this by saying I am not biased because he is my husband but Jon gave the absolute best speech I've ever heard at the wedding. I am so proud of him! He didn't write anything down and did an amazing job. I was tearing up the way he was talking about his best friend and his wonderful outlook on life. Jon and the crowd laughing and smiling and dabbing the corners of their eyes. He claims he hates public speaking but he was a natural and so genuine (and I have seen a lot of speeches in my life!).

Cake cutting

& dancing the night away

The dance floor was packed the whole night (probably because the bar was open haha) and it was so much fun. Dancing is my favorite part of all weddings. Jon and I usually never miss a song! At one point the bride and groom were both wearing sunglasses and we were chanting their names. Jon N got on the ground to do push ups and his wife, Stephanie joined him!!!! So funny. Then my Jon totally surprised me and attempted to do the Chinese splits (yes this was on the dance floor...in a tux...).

We did a sparkler send off and they drove away in the car that my husband decorated. He was proud of his sign (that I did help a little bit on)

The wedding party didn't want the night to end so we made a game plan. With it being the end of SXSW and St. Pattys Day, we knew downtown would be a nightmare so we ended up at Graham's Central Station which if you are from Austin, you know is quite the interesting place haha. It is 5 clubs in one and is the perfect place for people watching. Jon wore his sunglasses the whole time and sweat through his entire tux from dancing...it was pretty darn epic. We didn't get home until after 2am which made for a hard church wakeup call the next morning.

Our only picture together that night (drunk mode sunglasses Jonny boy & I have total dance club hair)

We couldn't stop talking about what a fun, perfect weekend it was. We are so thankful for friends, family, and weekends like this. Once again, it was such a fun weekend that Mr. Ernie didn't want to get up this morning...

Smiling...

Hope you had a great weekend too!

I looks like it was a wonderful wedding!

I didn't know that your hubby is from Medina! That's my "hometown" too! I didn't grow up there, but my parents have lived there for 12 years, so it's where I spend all my holidays!

I think your husband is really lucky to have such a close friend he has known so long. I wish I could say I had friends I've known that far back, but sadly when you move away as far and as quickly as I did, and being the last to get married and have kids and all of that jazz, I find myself losing touch.
The pictures are great I really like all the outside decor!! :)

that is seriously one of the, if not THE, most beautiful outdoor ceremonies I have ever seen. I am dying over toss covered "J" and "S" and that amazing gazebo type thing too!
Love that you said "club hair" haha, we always end up going out after a late wedding it so much fun.

Ernie kills me! He is so cute! Also your hubs looks great in a tux! I love the whole dressed up man look. I was so in love with my husbands suit at our wedding. I never wanted him to take it off. Something about a well dressed man. The wedding looks whimsical and beautiful!
