Zumba, babies, & Austin Cake Ball

Good morning friends. This was a whirlwind of a weekend. I wish I could say I spent it relaxing and catching up on sleep but I can't. Luckily I zonked out before 10p last night to catch up!

So first things first....if you follow me on Twitter you would have seen this tweet...

Yes!! You read that right!! I am officially a certified Zumba instructor!!!! I had a few people ask me about it and I thought I should explain. Zumba is actually an international company and that requires their instructors to be licensed with the company. I have talked about becoming an instructor for a while and when finding out there was an Austin training, Jon signed me up as a Christmas gift. Yep I kept it in THAT long!! I didn't want to share the news until I was actually licensed. It was amazing! It was a 1 day training (they usually offer trainings only 1-2 times a year in a certain city) with 8 hours of Zumba. Let's just say that my body is sore in places I had no idea I could be sore! I had a blast and I cannot wait to start teaching!! I will keep you Austinites posted on where I start teaching too :-)

And in other huge news....

My sister and her hubby are pregnant!! They told us a couple of weeks ago and I've been dying to share this news! She is due October 15th (okay so not my birthday but 1 day off!) and we are so excited. This is our families first grandbaby and first great grandbaby on both sides. Between us buying a house and them having a baby...our family is definitely blessed right now. I can't wait to be an aunt!!! (and for those of you asking if we bought a house to make babies...I am pretty sure my baby fever will be satisfied for the next couple of months!)

Last night I got to go on a bloggy date with Jenni & Mallorie at Austin Cake Ball. Yes they actually have food, not just cake balls (although Jenni did eat red velvet chicken...so odd!).

(short rib sliders & bleu cheese mashed potatoes)

And that's not all that happened this weekend!! Jon and I went furniture shopping...we literally stayed at World Market for 30 minutes sitting in different chairs, taking pictures and matching our paint samples. I am lucky that my hubby has good style and is excited about decorating our house (I am too indecisive!). We also had a super fun night with our next door neighbors and their sweet 1 year old baby boy. Japanese food, great conversation, and lots of laughs. We are praying we find neighbors half as wonderful as our current neighbors in our new home. Yesterday was my madre's birthday so we went to church and lunch...it was perfect.

Sorry for the information overload but wow this weekend was amazing and full of good news! We are so grateful and thanking the Lord for the wonderful gifts He continues to give our family.

p.s. I didn't get a chance to post it much this weekend but I shared the most amazing chicken enchilada soup recipe on Saturday. Seriously one of my top 3 favorite recipes. Be sure to check it out!

There's so much excitement in this post, I don't even know where to begin.

1. Congrats! I've never taken a Zumba class, but I'd definitely take one if you were teaching.
2. YAY!!!! You're going to be an Aunt!!!
3. So jealous of your blog date! I need to find more bloggers in my area of CT...

Being an Aunt is honestly so wonderful! You will experience the love of a momma but you get to spoil them rotten! I live 3 hours away from my niece so when I do see her, I cherish the momments and focus all my enegery on her. You will be blown away by how much you love your niece of nephew. Congrats!

I've been wanting to get Zumba certified for years! You may have just encouraged me to ask for that as a graduation present! I'm so excited for you!

Also, so fun that you're going to be an aunt! My cousin just found out she's having a boy, her second child, this summer! I'm so excited!

*I'm following you on Twitter now too! :)

Have a super day! xo

I need to blow up a picture if your face and stick it to my tv so when I pop in my zumba DVD this week I can pretend its you instead of that Latin chick whom I love and hate at the same time because of her lucious abs. So happy for you! Dreams do come true(insert Disney music here). Hugs!!!

Such great news! Congrats on both! And wait, I am trying to get my zumba certification too! So awesome you did it! I was supposed to go train back in December, but I didn't think I was in shape enough yet! I need to chat with you on how the day went! And I am hesitant to to do it because I feel like there will be so many good people there, and I'll be mediocre.
