Rosette wreath tutorial

A couple of weeks ago I was in a crafty mood one Wednesday night and ended up making this in about 20 minutes.

(You may recognize those rosettes from the tutorial I did yesterday.)

All you need for this wreath is a few simple items.

-A foam wreath (can be purchased at any craft store)
-Fabric or ribbon to cover the foam wreath. I had leftover fabric from some pillows in our bedroom and used that! I recommend a thicker fabric so it is more durable. I used about 5 feet of fabric cut 1.5 inch wide
-Fabric for rosettes (see my tutorial here) or some other embellishment, ex. store bought flowers, feathers, wooden letters.
-Fabric scissors
-Hot glue gun
-Fabric or ribbon to hang the wreath (or a wreath hanger if you'd like)

So here's what you do

1. Cut your fabric (the fabric you want to cover the wreath with) into 1.5 inch wide strips, any length. If using ribbon, you have it a bit easier.
2. Hot glue the end of the fabric/ribbon to the wreath on the inside of the circle or choose a side to be the "back"

3. Start wrapping the fabric/ribbon tightly around the wreath, securing with hot glue every so often.

4. If using fabric, you will run out of fabric unless for some reason you have a 5-6ft long piece of fabric. Just cut another strip and glue it where the other strip stopped and start wrapping around the wreath. Wrap until the wreath is covered

5. Next, add your embellishments. I used hot glue to secure my rosettes

6. Hang your wreath with fabric, ribbon or a wreath hanger and viola!

I made one of these wreaths the other day for the first time but I used yarn. I will have to try using fabric or ribbon too. It looks very cute! I just found your blog.... feel free to stop by mine.

You are a commenter on several of the blogs I read so I popped over to check out your blog. I love it! I love the question you posed about creating things for pinterest or just being a serial pinner. I'm totally guilty! I am making my way through the recipes I've pinned though. That's a start! :)
