Weekend {love}

It was hard to wake up this morning. Not only were we sad to end such a wonderful weekend but it has been freeeeeezing here and it sucks to get out of a warm bed. Luckily I am home this morning before catching a flight to San Jose this afternoon for a tradeshow. Normally I get bummed having to travel since I am a major homebody but Jon is meeting me there on Wednesday :-)

So this weekend...

Friday: I didn't get any pictures (ugh) but we had our whole family over for dinner, including my grandparents. It was a blast! I loved showing them our cute little house and best of all, cooking for my grandparents. I made the French fried onion spaghetti bake I posted on my blog along with a new delicious side and appetizer (recipes to come!). My gram had a sweet little gift for me and Jon and it is really special. I brought Jon up to Chicago to meet my extended family after we had been dating a couple of months. I found this little guy at my grandparents house and told them "this is a Frenchie! Jon and I want one someday!". Well of course they remembered that and now that we have Ernie...they gifted it to us :-)

Saturday my little brother had a basketball tournament with a cheering section of 11 people just for him haha. I brought my camera and took almost 400 pictures between the two games (my camera has an awesome shutter speed setting where it can take 6 pics a second, so cool).

Brother

Sisters

We spent the evening at my parents house playing games, eating, drinking and having an absolute blast. Seriously we have so much fun with my family and I am so thankful for that. The men actually braved the low 30's weather and played a couple games of corn hole! After dinner, we played the game Telestrations which is a mix between Telephone and Pictionary. My heart hurt SO bad from laughing throughout the whole game. If you see it at the store...buy it!

(Cori's father in law with his hilarious 4 legged turkey)

My dad will be skiing with my brother next weekend for his birthday so we did a little birthday celebration for him as well

Saturday night Jon and I slept 10 glorious hours and decided to live stream our church service because it was too darn comfy in our house to go out. It ended up sleeting in the afternoon (oh and today's high is 68 haha). We spent the rest of the day catching up on the hours of Dateline/2020 episodes we recorded (our favorite on weekend afternoons) and then went to see The Vow. We were both in unmatching sweats, it was awesome, and devoured a burger and fries at the theater. I won't give any of the movie away but it was good. Not best movie of 2012 good but it was cute.

Since I will be gone tomorrow for Valentine's Day, Jon and I did a little celebration last night. Our gift to each other is going to San Francisco but we still wanted to do something cute. Jon made me this...

How cool is that?

Jon and I met almost 3 years ago while working at a software company called NetQoS (which was later bought by CA Technologies for you techies). We have had an unopened deck of NetQoS cards and finally did something with them. We split the cards in half and each wrote 27 things (we kept the jokers in) that we love about each other. After we were done, we shuffled and read them one by one.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend too! I will be MIA this week so don't forget about me :-)

I love that game! I used to play that in youth group before it even was a popular game. We just had strips of paper and sat in a circle to play it.
You live in Austin right? Ummm...did you know that les miserables is coming to Austin like in may? Be prepared for us to come and stay the night with you hahah jk. It's like an 8 hour drive from us and I really wanna see the musical....so maybe just maybe we can have a blate with the hubbies?!

What a cute early Valentine's Day celebration! I've played that game before, and also laughed so hard that I was in pain. I think playing games like that with family is the best, it's where inside jokes are made! I remember I started writing German when playing The Game Of Things with my family. That joke has been around for a long time now. Family is by far the best!
Have a safe trip, and a wonderful time in San Fransisco!
