Wanna see our house?

So you probably know that last week, Jon and I bought a house! Our offer was accepted last Wednesday, we had the inspection on Monday and then Wednesday evening, the seller agreed to the repairs needed (minor things found in inspection)! So it is almost ours!! Now we just wait. Our close date is April 4th so unless something happens with financing, we are good to go. I can finally start thinking about it as our house. The awesome thing about the house is that there is not one drop of paint in the whole thing...meaning it is a blank canvas for me! I hate white walls and can't wait to get to painting. Jon and I have a stack of paint samples on our kitchen table and a million ideas written down. We still can't believe this is happening!!

And since the house is one step closer to being ours...I wanted to share some pictures today! I have a feeling I will be bloggin' all about moving, painting, decorating, DIYing and the likes, so I want you to get a good idea of what the before looks like. All the furniture in the pictures is the sellers and will leave with the house.

So here you have casa de Corazon (Hart hehe)

You can see it a lot better than the first pic I posted :-).

The brick looks reddish in the picture but in person it is very brown. I love the movement in the brick and love how they incorporated limestone.

So if you've watched our current home tour, you would know our house is little. It was built in the 50's and is about 1050sf. The new house is 3055sf...gasp. Yes it is big for 2 people but it won't be big when we have a slew of little bambinos running around in a couple of years, eh? The plan is NOT to move for a long time. Moving sucks!

So when all my bloggy friends come a visit, this is what you will see...

I am so excited to have a formal dining room. We have been looking at big farmhouse tables and I can't wait to host Thanksgiving and Christmas in this house. We are thinking that for now, the formal living room will be my blogging/craft area (time to start pinning ideas!).

One of our requirements was two story ceilings in at least 1 area of the house. This house had our dream ceilings.

The master suite is downstairs along with a little half bath powder room. I didn't post a pic but there is a huge mud room/laundry room right off the garage.

I love how open the kitchen and family room are in this house. Our current house is so boxy and each room is closed off. What's worse than spending the afternoon in the kitchen without being able to watch TV?! The pics of the kitchen aren't the best but it is spacious and pretty. I am not crazy about the dark cabinets...I have dreams of creamy white cabinets so that may be in the future. I love the dark granite and stainless steel appliances. We about died when we researched the type of fridge that the seller is leaving us. And a double oven! My life is complete

The breakfast nook is to the left of the kitchen and has bay windows and a door to the backyard.

Before we head upstairs here is a picture of Jon's office. He works from home when he is not traveling and will eventually need to move his work from the sofa to an office when we have kiddos. It is directly to your left when you walk into the house (I guess it could be counted as a 5th bedroom since it has a closet which is nice)

Oh and the back of the house...

So upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a game room and an unfinished media room (score!). It's nice because one of the bedrooms is off by itself with its own bathroom and the other two share a jack and jill on the other side of the house.

We have plans to finish the media room but not anytime in the near near future. The seller had a quote for the finishing attached to the door so we know exactly how much it will cost, etc. but we don't really need the space yet. It will eventually be the perfect place for a mini movie theater!

I didn't want to bore you and post pictures of 3 identical rooms. There are definitely little boys living in the rooms because each of them has huge FatHead stickers of different sports teams on all the walls. They all have pretty good sized closets which is nice too.

And last but not least...the view! It's not a crazy view of the lake but it is better than nothing. The neighborhood is right by the lake (for an easy $1m you can get a view of the lake ha) and has lots of rolling hills. This is the view outside the upstairs windows. You can actually spot the University of Texas golf course if you look closely!

So there you have it, our soon-to-be home. We are so thrilled and continue to thank the Lord for the many blessings He's given. I can't wait to chronicle our journey in becoming homeowners.

Have a great weekend!

Okay, your house is gorgeous and you are going have SOOO much making it a home! My little piece of advice...take 1 room at a time...this way you aren't just throwing stuff on walls to get it decorated. Our downstairs is almost totally finished, but upstairs still looks nearly like 1 week after we moved in (back in July). It just makes it easy to have everything be cohesive.

I am honestly speechless! It's a mansion! A gorgeous, gorgeous mansion and I couldn't be more excited for you two! In 300 years Brandon and I would never be able to afford that size house where we live by the beach. It would probably be a million dollars, no joke. I cannot wait to watch as you guys paint and decorate! Yay :-)

Wow, wow, WOW! What a beautiful house you have. Watching so many episodes of House Hunters, it seems like the houses in the states are larger than the houses we have here in Canada. Maybe that's not the case, but your house is huge compared to our house! Love it, and a bit jealous of your huge bathroom. Like how you labled Jon too :)
