Cost of owning a pet

I found this picture on Stumble Upon and thought it was super interesting. It states that over a dog's lifetime, it can cost you almost $8,000 which I guess could be true (if you don't have a bulldog who cannot naturally produce and has to be born via C section!!).

Whatever Ernie will cost us over the next 15 years, it is worth it. The money is nothing compared to the love and joy he brings into our lives. I look at the little chunk everyday and think to myself, "wow if I love him this much, imagine when Jon and I have kids". I can't wait. Ernie is always there to cuddle, play and love on. I read on FreeKibble on Monday that 80% of households consider their dogs a part of their family. That is so true.

Look at this face...

To see more posts on Mr. Ernie, click here. And also be sure to visit FreeKibble and answer a trivia question and they will donate 10 pieces of kibble to a shelter in need (whether you get it right or wrong!). I have the site book marked on my toolbar so I visit everyday. It takes 2 seconds and you could be saving a dog's life.

I'm glad Mr. E-Man is making a reappearance on the blog! I was beginning to miss him! It is SO true the joy that a little animal can bring to a household!

When I finally settle and get married I am going to want a dog right away like you guys did! It's good training and something fun to do together :-)

EEEEeeeee puppy!! We're getting ready to bring a Boston Terrier into our lives and while I cringed a little when I saw the first image in this post, my heart melted when I saw the adorable pictures of your pup! There's no doubt that you cannot put a price tag on an animal that becomes a member of the family. Holy poop I can't wait!!!

I like this post... your dog is soo cute. I should show this to my husband. He wants a large dog so bad... well, we'd get him as a puppy first. I told him it's expensive!

I totally agree with you. Dogs are gifts to any human life and their love is absolutely priceless! I cannot wait to have one again.

I have 4 furbabies and I totally believe it! They're definitely worth it though.

You can't put a price love :) I have 2 cats (am very allergic to dogs or I'd have one too) and they are the loves of my life. Where else can you get that kind of unconditional love?

Ernie is adorable!

I can believe owning pets cost thousands of dollars. Every time I go to the pet store I say these animals need job. I have a dog and two cats and they are worth every penny.

Owning pets definitely cost a fortune. I have 2 dogs and 5 cats and adore them all! They are worth all the vet trips, all the food bills, etc.
