6 months!

Last Friday, August 5th, Jon and I celebrated 6 months of marriage! 6 months!! I can't believe it. Where has time gone? It felt just like yesterday that Jon and I were dancing the night away at our wedding reception then relaxing in Cabo on our honeymoon. As perfect as our wedding was, marriage trumps it all. These last 6 months have been the best of my life and looking forward, I smile knowing life is just going to get better!

This has nothing to do with our little celebration but on Thursday night my dear husband accidentally gave me this...

No that's not purple eyeshadow I'm rockin', it is a black eye. I hate even talking about it because Jon felt soooo bad but I thought it was kind of funny and had to share! The tip of his sharp elbow met my eye brow bone and on came the purple. It hurt like heck but my hubby took very good care of me. Tuesday was the first day it wasn't tender and has since changed from a beautiful yellowish color to pinkish-red today. All jokes aside, it was truly an accident, poor Jon (and yes poor me waaa waaa)

Friday evening we went to a cute little Italian restaurant located right by downtown Austin called Romeo's. We've been meaning to try it but have been scared away by the so/so reviews on Yelp (we are major Yelpers). My mouth is watering thinking about how good this food was. We were pleasantly surprised by the phenomenal service and out of this world food. We chose to forgo cocktails in favor of appetizers, entrees and 2 desserts (don't judge, we like to eat our calories in chocolate and fried food).

We are suckers for calamari and Romeo's was huge, crispy and delicious.

Check out the rolls they served us before dinner. Yep we ate 3...

Jon went with the Chicken Scallopine which was angel hair pasta with chicken, mushrooms, capers, parmasean cheese in a white wine lemon sauce. Jon loved it!

I ordered the Cannelloni Paradiso which included "fresh tomato pasta filled with grilled chicken and asiago cheese over a blend of pomodori and alfredo sauces". I am not usually a huge Italian food fan because of the excess of cheese but this dish was chock full of thick chicken. Mmm Mmm.

 eating pasta naked ;-)

Now for dessert...we ordered the triple chocolate cake and dark chocolate gelato. A+

With a little Italian food baby taking space in my tummy, we spent the rest of the night cuddled up on the couch watching movies (and digesting the 3,000 calories we consumed in one sitting!).

We love Romeo's!! We went their on our second first date! (We call it that because we dated for a short time, he moved, then we started dating for a second time 2 years later.)

Maybe sometime we can double date at Romeo's. :)
