2012 Year in Review

2012 was awesome. Some how the years keep getting better and better so it won't surprise me if 2013 brings more fun and excitement than 2012. I'm gonna be cheesy for a second and say that I am lucky get to spend everyday with my awesome hubby who makes ordinary life so much better. Last year I reviewed 2011 which was pretty big in itself (getting married, getting Ernie, vacations, etc), check out my 2011 year in review here. 

Here are our highlights from 2012

January

• My best friend got married and I stood beside her as her matron of honor
• I started and led a small group at church that continues to meet to this day (and has significantly grown...posts here and here)
• We went to an Anchorman Quote along at a drafthouse movie theater

February

• We celebrated 1 year of marriage (posts here, here, and here)
• We vacationed in San Francisco (posts here and here)
• The Lord led us to purchasing our very first home

March

• We finally got to share pictures of our new house (which we wouldn't move into until April)
• My sister announced her pregnancy!
• I talked about spiritual gifts
• We were chosen to be on an episode of House Hunters! (and I posted our audition video here)

April

• We shot for our episode of House Hunters
• Finally got to move into our new house!
• I gave up cussing for Lent (even though we are not Catholic) and I continue not to use curse words

May

• I went to Vegas, stood about 5 feet from Adam Levine at a Maroon 5 concert and ended up losing my ID, yet making it back to Austin!
• Jon shared step by step directions on how to paint a chevron wall
• Jon was baptized!

June

• I talked about grace vs. nature
• I went to NYC and got to meet my blog bff, Amanda

July

• I did a video tour of our house (and should do another one soon, so much has changed!)
• Our episode of House Hunters aired!
• I threw a bachelorette party
• I went to Canada for the first time

August

• I threw my sister a baby shower
• Jon and I vacationed in Salt Lake City/Park City Utah (he totally surprised me!)
• I went to San Francisco...again

September

• I made homemade Chick Fil A nuggets
• Spent the weekend in Dallas with my siblings before my niece was born

October

• My beautiful niece Embry Suzanne was born
• We went to Riveria Maya for our friends destination wedding
• Jon and I made a vlog together
• We hosted our first of many Halloween parties

  November

• I shared an amazing story (and my thoughts) on adoption
• I took pictures of little Miss Embry

December

• I talked about owning a French Bulldog
• I talked about marriage being work...the fun kind though
• I wrote about biblical forgiveness, part 1 and part 2
• I shared some Christmas decor and our Christmas card
• Christmas highlights 2012

Other highlights include...

• Switching churches this fall...a huge leap of faith that was led by prayer, we could not be happier!
• Continuing to study scripture and grow in our faith as individuals and as a married couple
• Lots of fun weekends at my parents lakehouse
• Dinners, get togethers, and game nights at our home
• Lots of firsts in our new house
• Getting to know our neighbors and falling in love with our neighborhood

We are so excited for what 2013 has in store for the Hart family! We already have vacations planned and ideas looming. We will celebrate our 2nd year of marriage in just a month, and Jon turns 30 in April! Thank you so much to each of my readers for loving us and supporting us through 2012, can't wait for a new year with you!
