2013 Year In Review

What a year 2013 was for our family!! Probably the most life changing one yet. Because we've all been under the weather, we rang in the New Year as a sleeping family of 4 (Ernie in our bed of course) and look forward to a healthy 2014! Below you will find some highlights and favorite blog posts from 2013!

Honestly I don't remember much from last holiday/Winter season because I was so sick. My early pregnancy put me through the ringer but it was so worth it. January we announced our pregnancy and shared how we felt the Lord encouraging us to start a family.

We celebrated 2 years of marriage, visited family in Chicago, and found out we were having a boy! I talked about the gospel and work and shared my thoughts about staying positive during a hard pregnancy.

I hit the halfway mark of my pregnancy, shared my heart on the divine providence of God, and made one of the best recipes I will ever make, garlic Parmesan knots

I went to Vegas almost 6 months pregnant and saw more of my comfy hotel room than the strip, threw Jon a 1983 prom themed 30th birthday party, and spent a few hours in L&D with a baby scare

Wrote this post on wholehearted prayer, took a little getaway with my husband to San Antonio, and continued to bring my big ol belly to the gym.

Spent a weekend in Dallas with family and friends, was given a fabulous baby shower, and traveled to Mexico 8 months pregnant!

I shared some of my fears and prayers for labor and birth, wrote about not being a hero during pregnancy, and became a stay at home mama! I made this tutorial for pacifier clips (and to this day Ford won't take a and gave you the best darn cheeseball recipe!

I never thought I'd be pregnant in August but we took maternity pictures almost 39 weeks pregnant and met our son at 41 weeks. We shared the meaning behind Ford Nehemiah's name and are still in disbelief that I was less than 1% of women who have low blood platelets during labor (my birth story here).

We took Ford to church for the first time, sent out birth announcements, and gave you a tour of his nursery. We conquered our first trip as a family of 3 and my heart was changed at The Influence Conference

Ford met his namesake, our beautiful niece and god daughter turned 1, and left Ford for our first date night! We started cloth diapering at 8 weeks and hosted our 2nd annual Halloween Hootenanny.

We flew to Jon's hometown of Cleveland where Ford met lots of family and saw his grandma Hart get married. Ford was dedicated to Christ and our church and celebrated Thanksgiving with family here in Austin. I am also pretty sure I scared some of my readers with my "postpartum, what they don't tell you" post.

We struggled with crib training, snotty noses, and bronchitis this month but are blessed to have the happiest baby on the block! I was honored to write a post for What To Expect and combated nasty comments about my birth story with grace. Ford was smitten with Santa and we had a fantastic and relaxing Christmas which I have yet to recap!

It is hard to believe that by the end of this year we will have a walking, talking little boy on our hands. Life seems to get better and better each day with new baby tricks, fun family experiences, and the joy that Jon and I get from being parents. Bring it on 2014! Hope you all have a blessed New Years Day!

Perfect little family! You and Jon are such an inspiration to everyone around you! Every time I need some encouragement or guidance, I come to your blog and reflect on the stories, lessons and personal experiences you tell. It's been wonderful following along in your journey with Ford and life in general this past year. May your 2014 bring even more happiness and special memories!

You had a BIG year girl, and I bet 2014 will be even better! I can't wait to watch Ford's so cute to see him getting bigger, and it makes me a little nostalgic since he's just a couple months behind Grayson. Happy New Year to your little family!!!
